Yesterday it was revealed that alleged LulzSec second in command “Topiary” (@atopiary) had been arrested by UK police on the Shetland Islands off the north east coast of Scotland. But is the guy they arrested really Topiary?
LulzSecExposed is reporting the man the 19-year old man by the name of Daniel Chatfield that the UK police arrested yesterday is not the real Topiary. Instead, the “real” Topiary is a 23-year old Swedish guy called Daniel Sandberg. LulzSecExposed even links to this picture which supposedly shows Topiary on camera. Further supporting the claim that UK police arrested the wrong guy is another article by DailyTech which also cites the same aforementioned link depicting Topiary’s face (allegedly) and also claims that he (Topiary) is a 23-year old Swedish man.
Needless to say, it would be another victory for LulzSec and another massive failure for police as they’ve been rather hot and heavy on the hacker groups’ tails for the last several months without any real headway to speak of.
Stay tuned as we continue following the latest LulzSec and Anonymous news…
Remember the 80s and 90s – running up and down the halls with your new trapper keeper? Every year it would be a new design: sports, cool sunglasses or awesome lamborghinis and ferraris. No matter what it looked like, it always made you feel like your acid wash jeans didn’t stink. Here we are – 2011 and all the stinkin rottin brats out there are running around with smartphones, laptops and iPads. They don’t have to write anymore. Most kids nowadays have no idea what a pen is. Apple knows this, hence approving apps that let you draw/write with your fingers. ZooGue also are aware of our lazy children, which is why they designed the BinderPad Case.
In all my travels I have yet to come across a case for the iPad that fits right into a 3ring binder. Nothing special – other than the flap with 3 holes. Your normal every day sleeve with the necessary screen and button cut outs. With Dark Grey and Black finishes, this polyester baby weighs in at a nice little 3.5oz and only a 1/2″ thick. Not much extra bulk adding to the already bulky 3 rink binder you have to carry around. AT $29.99usd – the price can’t be beat. With most colleges and schooles requiring something digital over paper, what better way to study up than with a brand new case for your iPad 2!

Specs are light at the moment, but leaked images claiming to be that of the Atrix 2/HD are now circulating online showing a device very similar to the current Atrix 4G save for a few minor changes. First and foremost, the camera has been upgraded to an 8-megapixel shooter vs. the 5-megapixel optics on the current Atrix.
Other tiny differences include the use of Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a slightly larger screen (probably ~4.3″), higher 720p resolution, a tweaked version of MOTOBLUR and the removal of the gimmicky fingerprint reader.
Processor and memory specifications aren’t available and we’re not too sure about the convex shape of the screen. But above all else, we’re just glad we’re can actually see these small differences as the standard blurry cam photos give up far less information.
Another shot after the break…
Being rather enthusiastic iOS users (most of us anyway) here at GS means we’ve been quiet diligent in following the Lodsys vs. small (and now big) time developers in regards to in-app purchasing. According to patent troll Lodsys, basically Apple’s entire developer ecosystem who uses in-app purchasing and doesn’t contact them for licensing is in need of a good suing. Apple meanwhile states that their generous licensing terms already covers individual developers. Considering that a lawsuit ending with Lodsys in the clear could have very wide ranging and devastating effects on the iOS world as a whole.
So how are things going by the way? Well, not too great…

Ubisoft isn’t our favorite game publisher for one big reason — their stupid DRM that requires a constant internet connection. The worst part, however, is that if your internet connection drops, there’s a good chance all of your progress since the last game save will be gone. For multiplayer games, internet connections a no-brainer. But for a single-player game that might not even have a multi-player or online community aspect, this is utterly ridiculous. But after public outcry following two big titles — Assassin’s Creed 2 and Splinter Cell: Conviction — featuring the very same DRM, the company wisely backed their crazy DRM scheme down a few notches. Too bad it was temporary.
It’s with great sadness that we reveal Ubisoft has artificially neutered another one of their games — Driver: San Francisco.

After yesterday’s iPhone 5 case design mock-up leaked, comes even stronger evidence that the iPhone 5 will in fact have a *slightly* re-designed case compliments of an actual case getting caught on camera. The case you see above was secured by Apple enthusiast site 9to5Mac and is reportedly from the same source(s) that sent them the pre-release iPad 2 case drawings which turned out to be very real. On top of the leaked image, 9to5Mac also claims to have confirmation from various Asian case manufacturers that physical cases are being distributed to sellers for self-branding purposes.
The idea that the iPhone 5′s casing will look similar to or exactly like the case above, is beginning to look rather believable, dare we say certain. Still, reports from other more established news outlets such as Reuters and Bloomberg still maintain the next-gen iPhone will feature a nearly identical case and design. For the record, it’s been claimed Apple is testing iPhone 5 internals within iPhone 4 cases to keep the iPhone 5 secret. Given the events that caused the iPhone 4 to be revealed many months early, we certainly understand Apple taking an even more secretive approach with the iPhone 5.
A much different scenario, of course, could be that we’re simply looking at the next-gen iPod Touch case — exciting, yes, but not the real story everyone is looking for.
Let your mind run wild while jumping past the break for another case shot…

Update
It appears UK police were duped. The guy they arrested isn’t the real Topiary — Link.
The latest news surrounding now infamous hacker group LulzSec takes a more serious tone this afternoon with reports that the group’s second in command, @atopiary, has been arrested by the UK’s Police Central e-Crime Unit (PCeU). The man/almost boy is 19 years old and was found at a residential address in the Shetland Islands off the north east coast of Scotland.
Claims that atopiary is in fact “second in command” have not been confirmed, nor has information claiming atopiary’s real name is “Daniel” — a name which has been mentioned in a few leaked files.
Besides being the so-called second in command, it is also believed that Topiary is/was the main public face of LulzSec and operator of the LulzSec Twitter account — last updated 5 hours ago. Topiary’s personal Twitter account has been wiped of previous tweets except for one that reads: “You cannot arrest an idea.”
