The afternoon is just getting started and we’ve already got two big Android stories to pour over — DROID Bionic WiFi printing and rumors of the ASUS Transformer 2 being the first quad-core tablet. But first thing’s first. You have to click your way inside…
DROID Bionic WiFi Printing
A story published earlier by TechnoBuffalo details a lot of already known DROID Bionic features and specs. One feature, however, that hasn’t received any press attention (that we know of) is support for Motorola’s “MotoPrint” WiFI printing functionality. All that’s needed is (obviously) a WiFI network to hook up to and a WiFi-supporting printer. Good stuff! Though we have to ask just how much will the masses use said feature? The last time we had anything of important to print was a world that was fascinated by the first-gen iPhone’s meager (by today’s standards) specs.
ASUS Transformer 2 + Quad-Core
Moving from fact to rumor, Fudzilla is reporting that we’ll finally see Kal-El (Tegra 3) quad-core hardware hitting the market. Originally, Kal-El devices we supposed to hit in late August. But as you know, delays hit this industry at the most inopportune times.
We’ve already covered the amazing features that Tegra 3 will bring to the table — namely much faster/stronger performance and greatly improved battery life — so there’s no need to rehash. Plus, we’re sure you’re eyes have already glazed over after realizing August is already more than half over meaning Kal-El hardware is this much closer. In short: Tegra 3 is going to be awesome.
