Jumping into the far-reaching world of photo editing can be quite overwhelming to newcomers. Copious amounts of time (and eventually money) will be needed in order to succeed. A lot of “beginner” tools we’ve seen are in fact quite complex, maybe too complex.
On the flip side, there are plenty of hobbyist photo editors who merely tweak photos for fun or on a much smaller scale than a professional, and have no plans to do it full time.
Fit either mold? That’s where MacPhun’s Color Splash Studio comes into play. Basic photo editing as well as a robust feature to add emphasis to certain colors is super simple. Hop past the break and see for yourself…

After an untimely delay the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Ice Cream Sandwich are officially in the wild — sort of. Join us as we bring you a crash course on the Android phone of the year and the revamped Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS that will revitalize the platform. It’s pretty lengthy but there’s a ton of new stuff to cover. With that said, hop on in…

Many iOS jailbreaking critics would say the process of opening up iOS for the sole purpose of hacking is a dead form with iOS 5 now out in the wild. Though while many of iOS users’ previous complaints have been addressed, there’s still a lot missing from Apple’s official software. Look no further than IntelliscreenX to illustrate this. What you’ll see in the video after break is an “app”/collection of widgets that go far and above what Apple provides from the factory.
According to the developers behind IntelliscreenX at Intelliborn, the app in question should be released on Cydia in the next couple of days.
Apple: If you must steal more jailbreak developer creations, this would be the one to mimic.
Catch the demo inside…

Well. So much for secrecy. If the earlier leak of a simple Galaxy Nexus thumbnail weren’t enough to shatter the surprise, we now have a full 5-minute video giving a good look at the Galaxy Nexus hardware and quite a few screens within Ice Cream Sandwich. Adding to the legitimacy is the fact that it’s been pulled from YouTube already (and re-hosted thanks to TheVerge). For those looking to still cling to some sort of anticipation for the big announcement we’ll add in that the video itself is pretty blurry so there’s probably some finer details we’re not seeing just yet.
With just over an hour to go until Google and Samsung make everything official, you have but one important choice left at this point: ruin the surprise and feast your eyes on the Galaxy Nexus w/ ICS now or…wait.
Seeing as you’re hearing reading this we’ll expect to see you after the break in 3..2..

Put away your stockings and wish lists full of PS Vita paraphernalia, Sony’s next-gen mobile gaming device won’t be hitting the U.S. in time for holidays. Instead, we’ll have to wait until next year — February 22nd to be exact — for the PS Vita to hit American stores. Japanese gamers luck out this time and will get an early lead with their own December launch.
In a world where smartphones rule the mobile gaming scene, Sony’s $249 (WiFi-only) and $299 (WiFi + 3G) Vitas almost seem destined for failure. They’re not too terribly different from the various forms of PSP, which have fallen out of style in recent years, especially since the iPhone’s debut into the mobile gaming scene bringing with it a lower cost of entry by way of much more affordable games and a far more social experience.
Speculation on the future of mobile gaming aside, our first hurdle will be time. February is still quite a ways away. What will you do until then?

A teaser video for Nvidia’s next-gen Kal-el quad-core platform has leaked out, and surprise surprise the next-gen platform to carry the torch onward from Tegra 2 will be called — Tegra 3.
While the naming isn’t anything special, the performance will be. Nvidia promises all kinds of 1080p full HD shenanigans as well as console quality gaming. It’s worthing noting, too, that all of the extra power provided by the four, full cores will still sip energy — on par with Tegra 2, and at many times far less.
Rumors have long pegged late summer/early fall as Kal-el’s official launch season but so far nothing has been revealed. With that said ASUS’ upcoming Transformer 2 is the next best choice for quad-core power, scheduled for November and at the $499 price point.
While we contemplate some of life’s more serious questions (such as when we’ll really see Kal-el hardware) take a few to catch a leaked Tegra 3 teaser video after the break…

If you want to be surprised at tonight/todays Galaxy Nexus/ICS unveiling, avert your eyes. An official image of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus has leaked on…Samsung’s own website by way of a simple search. Searching for “Galaxy Nexus” (or clicking this link if you’re lazy) will net the result above. Too bad. Samsung was this close to pulling an Apple and keeping the goods concealed until the official event. If anything it just goes to show how important this device is — people actually care.
