Twitter Launches Completely Revamped iOS And Android Apps, Website.

Twitter users on both Android and iOS platforms have some new pixels to punish today. Twitter has released completely revamped apps for both platforms, bringing not only new visual changes, but functional updates/additions as well.

The biggest change revolves around basic menu navigation with Twitter now sporting 4 tabs across the bottom of the app: Home, Connect, Discover, and Me.

“Home” is simply a fancy name for your timeline while “Connect” houses things such as @mentions, retweets, and favorited tweets. “Discover” pulls in popular stories and trending topics. Finally, “Me” is now the place to go to view your profile and Direct Messages.

Twitter says in their new blog post introducing the revamped app that they are hard at work on bringing the new changes to Twitter for iPad in an effort to streamline user access and interaction with the popular micro-blogging service.

Also updated: Twitter.com will sport an all-new look (see above) that sees the timeline moving to the opposite side of the screen. *Gasp!* Overall, the look and feel is much more polished and streamlined — big pluses in our book.

The new re-design won’t hit the web portal quite yet — Twitter is rolling out the new, new (another new?) Twitter.com over the next few weeks. Meanwhile, if you’d like to get in on the action now, the mobile.twitter.com, iOS and Android apps all feature the new look and can be had this very minute. Give them a go and let us know what you think!
