Speaker Vest Features Amplified Speakers Plus 8″ Subwoofer, Almost Certain Hearing Loss.

  • December 12, 2011 11:52 am

The act of comparing car sound systems by how many subs one can cram in the trunk is so 2004 (along with spinners and truck nuts). The new hotness still involves speakers, but makes the move from back of your vehicle to…your actual back.

One clever Etsy seller has created a wearable sound system complete with two motorcycle speakers as well as an amplified 8″ sub all powered by a custom 10-cell battery belt. The asking price of $850 may seem a bit high at first glance. But just think, you’ll be the ultimate attendee at the next neighborhood rave (as long as no one forgets the glow sticks).

LG Spectrum (Revolution 2) Image Leaks.

  • December 12, 2011 11:17 am

It looks like LG’s follow-up to the “Revolution” Android phone was just leaked in the form of the LG Spectrum. The Spectrum/Revolution 2 is said to sport a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor along with a 720p (1280 x 720) display, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera w/ 1080p video recording and of course, LTE.

No word yet on when the latest LTE-equipped handset will hit VZW in the States. But one’s thing’s for sure, their holiday line-up is well stocked with a slew of super fast, LTE devices. For Android users at least, there are several hard choices to be made this holiday season. What’s your pick?

Sony Ericsson’s Nozomi Android Phone Spied (Again).

  • December 12, 2011 9:40 am

Sony Ericsson’s upcoming flagship Nozomi device has strutted it’s finely crafted bits a time or two before, but this time we’re getting the clearest picture yet of Sony’s latest and greatest. As for specs, current rumors say a 720p (720 x 1280) resolution is hiding behind the Nozomi’s 4.3″ glass display as is a speedy dual-core processor.

From a physical perspective it looks pretty decent, though, we’re not too thrilled with the UI — looks no where near as spacey/unique as the older Rachel UI from previous Sony Ericsson Android devices. In fact, we’d say it resembles whatever Motorola is calling MOTO BLUR these days. Yuck. UI aside, are you excited?

Poll: Favorite iOS Twitter App.

  • December 12, 2011 8:27 am

I’ve been using Twitter 4.0 pretty heavily since its release this past Friday. One thing that’s immediately apparent: Twitter wasn’t kidding when they said they were going after newcomers as opposed to appeasing seasoned Twitter veterans. But truth be told, there are many things I do like about the new 4.x app, starting with the overall design. More functional aspects, however, leave a bit to be desired — it takes too many clicks to do a lot of things now, and the Twitter team has either continued to leave out or even removed features/functionality. In short: Twitter 4.0 is a controversial release.

With that said, I find myself sort of in Twitter app limbo between Twitter 4.0 and Tweetbot, my longtime favorite. Though if I had to choose one, it would still be Tweetbot.

This Is What Sticking An iPad In Molten Lava Looks Like…

  • December 12, 2011 8:14 am

Ok, so there really isn’t any real purpose to sticking an iPad into lava nor writing a post about it. But, like the infamous “Will it blend” video series, we’re equally intrigued. Maybe it’s the destructive youngster inside our heads or the simple pyromaniac looking for the next fire-filled prank. Either way, it’s one of the better ways to start of a Monday morning.

iPhone 4 On iOS 5.0.1 Is Untethered!!

  • December 11, 2011 8:00 pm

It was just the the other day we showed you the 5.0 untether via pod2g running on his iPod. Well, today we just got a little view of some even better news. pod2g’s iPhone 4 running 5.0.1 has been jailbroken – untethered that is!

This is huge news! We’ve been eagerly anticipating the untethered for 5.0+ for some time now, especially those of us that are on the iPhone 4S. But we are just that much closer. No release is scheduled yet, so we’ll still have to sit back and wait. Hopefully we’ll be getting an amazing Christmas present from pod2g and the Chronic Dev Team. We’ll keep you up to date on the development.

Tweetbot For iOS On Sale For $0.99!

  • December 9, 2011 2:58 pm

(Not) everybody’s favorite iOS Twitter client is on sale! For a limited time you can download the normally $2.99 Tweetbot Twitter app for $0.99. The sale was just annoucned by Tweetbot developer, @tapbot_paul, whom says the sale was “just decided upon this morning” and doesn’t feature any set-in-stone end date.

We’re frequent Tweetbot users here at Gadgetsteria HQ thanks in part to the apps slick design and boatload of features. While it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, we think Tweetbot is easily one of the best Twitter clients for iOS bar none. If you haven’t tried Tweetbot for iOS yet, now is a perfect time to take the plunge.
