U.S. Cellular Snags Samsung Galaxy S II

While we impatiently await the arrival of the (assumed) quad-core Galaxy S III by Samsung, regional carrier U.S. Cellular would like to remind you that you can get (almost) new phones on their network too! The carrier is now officially selling the widely popular Galaxy S II Android smartphone for $229 when signing up for a new 2-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate. If you ask us, that’s far too much for a device, that as still relevant/powerful as it is, is this close to being replaced by its successor.

Specs for U.S. Cellular’s Galaxy S II include a 4.52″ WXGA 480 x 800 Super AMOLED Plus display, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8-megapixel camera, and 16 GB of onboard storage. Specific launch date is sadly absent fromt he press release, but rest assured, we’ll let you know once we find out.
