The soonest we’ve heard of quad-core + LTE devices hitting our clammy palms lies sometime in the 4th quarter when TI’s new OMAP5 debuts with simultaneous LTE + quad-core love. But perhaps Samsung’s quad-core Exynos processor will tie both technologies together in un-holy matrimony sooner rather than latter. At least, that’s what the Google banner ad above href="http://www.androidcentral.com/ad-banner-suggests-rogers-galaxy-s-iii-could-feature-new-exynos-chip-and-lte utm_source=ac&utm_medium=twitter">captured by AndroidCentral reader “mhsobhani” seems to indicate.
Up until this point, it was believed that the North American Galaxy S III was going to drop the quad-core in favor of a more LTE friendly dual-core option.
While an ad banner is hardly conclusive, solid proof of unannounced products, it doesn’t hurt to report on such things, now does it? At the very least, it gives us yet another avenue to scour over when it comes to unannounced information. Oh joy.
Of course, Samsung could just lay everything out there for us and kill the rampant speculation right now. Pipe dream…
