Lenovo Confirms Windows Phone 8 Device In The Works, Slated For Fall Release.
Lenovo is usually classified as a desktop computer manufacturer, occasionally getting a mobile nod at trade shows were their sometimes unique overseas gadgets get poked and prodded. Their U.S. mobile ambitions haven’t really blossomed yet in the U.S. We’re not entirely sure why; Lenovo has some pretty awesome gear from what we’ve seen. But perhaps the void will be Lenovo’s for the taking come later this year when the company unveils a new Windows Phone 8 device.
According to senior vice president for Lenovo Group, Liu Jun, Lenovo is currently working on a Windows Phone 8 device that will launch sometime in the fall. Furthermore, Jun also stated that the company is currently in talks to bring Lenovo smartphones to Japan and/or Germany, though nothing definitive has been hammered out yet.
Considering the rather lack of truly awesome Windows Phone hardware since the Dell Venue, we’d be more than willing to see Lenovo try their hand. You?
