With features from iOS 6 flooding the interwebs as of late, one of the main items we are seeing is the major upgrades our dear assistant Siri has seen. It seems she has graduated college and has a bunch of new knowledge and some great capabilities.
During the Keynote yesterday, we were given a small glance into the Eyes Free, which will allow car manufactures to implement Siri in a way that puts What Microsoft has done to shame. Having the features we now see in Siri, not just at the tips of our fingertips is a welcomed tool in the arsenal that is iOS 6.
While we won’t be seeing too much in the way of Eyes Free until manufacturers can implement it, we are left with a little bit extra on the way of how Siri interacts with our cars. As you can see in the pic, there is a new icon next to the Siri Mic that is new to iOS 6. This little guy gives the user the option to have Siri interact with either the phone or through your vehicle’s speakers.
Since I do not have the my iPhone handy with a BlueTooth equipped vehicle, I can’t verify if this is strictly Eyes Free, or if this will work with any BlueTooth speaker. We’ll update as soon as we can test it, or if anyone out there can verify how this works.
It also seems that Siri doesn’t know everything about every sport.
