Hello, Tweetbot For Mac.

Tapbots hugely successful 3rd party Twitter client, Tweetbot, has (finally) been spotted in the flesh. Tapbots designer Mark Jardine (Twitter: @MarkJardine tweeted the picture a little bit ago, commenting on “how nice the Retina display looks on the Macbook Pro”, with an instance of Tweetbot clearly running in the foreground.

Over the last week or so, Paul Haddad has been posting tweets to Twitter from his Mac with the “Tweetbot for Mac” label, initially sparking the hype. Earlier in the year, Mark actually tweeted another picture of his desktop which also included Tweetbot onscreen, though a considerable amount of cropping and zooming was needed to see the app in action. Needless to say, it wasn’t clear and was incredibly fuzzy.

While the main timeline is the only image we have, and no features have been divulged yet, it should go a long way into calming the seemingly large, pent up excitement from iPhone and iPad Tweetbot users who have been dying for a similar Mac client. If you’re like us (Twitter power users on Mac), you know that there isn’t really a legitimately “good” Mac Twitter app for power users. Tweetdeck was the golden standard. But after Twitter got a hold of it, the over-siplification and feature removal turned the once crown jewel of our docks into nothing more than a flashy icon void of any real utility.

Here’s to hoping Tapbots doesn’t make us wait too much longer now that they’ve clearly gone from slyly leaking to full-on teasing.
