Reeder For Mac 1.1.7 Update Hits App Store, Bug Fix(es) And Retina Support In Tow.

Just a few days after Apple pushed out an update to Reeder on iOS, a popular (and beautiful) RSS app, comes the mobile apps’ desktop update. Reeder 1.1.7 went live in the Mac App Store late yesterday. The change log is pretty minor; the main bug fix corrects an issue where Reeder incorrectly counted characters when sharing to Twitter. More importantly, however, Reeder 1.1.7 for Mac brings the highly sought after Retina support for Apple’s new line of MacBook Pros equipped with Retina Displays.
In our hands-on time with the Retina MacBook Pro this week, one of the worst looking non-Retina optimized apps was Reeder. Where Twitter and Osfoora looked a tad fuzzy to the discerning eye, Reeder was downright painful to use. That said, even if Reeder were reduced to 8-bit quality, we’d still use it over the web version of Google Reeder.
We’re curious as to when (if ever) Reeder will update the Mac app’s icon to reflect a change that came to Reeder for iOS that saw the company completely redo the home screen icon. Quite honestly, we actually like the older Reeder for iOS icon better.
We’re happy we don’t have to squint for 16 hours every day whilst trying to scour the web for the latest news. Give the latest update a shot and let us know what you think!
