AT&T’s Rolls Out 5 New LTE Markets, Expands In One.

If LTE is your biggest concern right now, it’s Verizon and Verizon alone as your best/only choice. If, however, you can deal with waiting another 6-12 months or already live in an area AT&T has LTE up and running, then your options are at least a bit better.

According to Phonescoop, AT&T rolled out LTE to 5 new markets today while also expanding one previously deployed LTE market.

New Markets

  • Kansas: Wichita
  • North Carolina: Burlington, Greensboro, and Winston-Salem
  • Texas: Corpus Christi

Expanded Markets

  • North Carolina: Charlotte

    Saratoga Springs, NY has LTE now and I didn’t see it shown on the AT&T map yet… Clocked my new iPad at just over 31Mbps today at the track! Very impressed and can’t wait for the rest of the capital district to get it!

    Wichita Kansas is getting AT&T LTE before Detroit Michigan??? In areas of northern Michigan where Verizon has strong 3G, AT&T has promised their 3G since 2010 but yet many towers still have those bogner antennas from the early 90′s. AT&T needs to toss the top brass and engineering and hire people that can plan and execute the rollout of their network to keep up with the demand from the consumer base. At the pace they are on they won’t have nationwide deployment until after 2016!!!!
