Apple’s Mail.app isn’t “bad” per say. But it’s far from perfect, too. For starters, the UI, while functional, is pretty sparse and uninspiring to look at. Add to that Gmail functionality is marginal at best. But Sparrow is a completely different beast. Instead of feeling bloated and slow, Sparrow looks and feels faster and more nimble. Speaking of looks, it’s pretty. Simple, but pretty.
And now, all of that OS X email awesomeness can be had for only $4.99 in the Mac App Store starting today and running through Monday, July 16th. Best of all, Apple finally approved the Retina supporting version (it was previously made available via Sparrow’s website) so all of you rMBP owners out there don’t have to look at a bunch of fuzzy emails anymore.
If you haven’t given Sparrow for Mac a shot before, now more than ever is your chance. Get to it and let us know what you think!
