AT&T CEO: “Too Early To Talk About iOS 6 FaceTime 3G Fees”.

Earlier today I, I’ll admit, got a bit heated in my rant regarding a fresh rumor that popped up late last night indicating that AT&T is currently looking at neutering a rather important new feature in iOS 6 — FaceTime over 3G functionality. In said post I noted how AT&T is pretty much the worst carrier when it comes to sticking customers with more and more fees for things they really shouldn’t be dinging us with.

Moving along, AT&T Mobility CEO Randall Stephenson caught wind of the earlier rumor too, as he addressed the crowd at the Fortune Brainstorm Tech conference he was speaking at today.

Specifically, Stephenson brushed most of the criticism off, saying that “he’s heard the same rumor as everyone else” and that AT&T is currently working with Apple to “stabilize” the technology. Though, he didn’t completely ignore pricing, claiming that it was “too early to talk about pricing”.

In case you didn’t catch it, “stabilize the technology” is fancy speak for “find out how to suck the most $$ out of customers”. Whether it be by ridiculous fees or laughably low data caps, AT&T will find a way to make your wallet weep. Hopefully Apple persuades AT&T think with their head instead of their wallet.
