Those of you with a penchant for high-end PC gaming and a copy of Grand Theft Auto IV no doubt know a thing or two about ICEnhancer, a very well done mod that has been updated many times over the last 1+ years with the sole goal of making GTA IV much, much more realistic in the graphics department.
That said, the latest 2.1 ICEnhancer update is a bittersweet one. The modder behind the project, Hayssam Keilany (Ice La Glace), has announced via his Facebook Fan Page that the 2.1 update is the last update. But don’t fret. He’s not going anywhere. His next big challenge — Skyrim.
“Now that IV is over for me, I’ll focus on Skyrim for the moment. I might upload iCE 2.1 on gta4-mods maybe; depends of people. About the 3rd game; because Skyrim will the longest stuff to do (Minecraft is pretty easy; there are plenty modsalready & it’s fun to do; like this game in MP or SP with MCA mod). I’ll put a survey on the Facebook page later; so I want to see what game deserves some extra love.”
If you haven’t checked out ICEnhancer, you really should. It takes the hours of fun GTA IV to a completely new level. Just make sure you have a beastly graphics card. GTA IV is already a pretty taxing game in stock form. ICEnhancer takes that stress to entirely new levels.
