Mountain Lion and a slew of iWork/iLife/iCloud related updates may be the talk of the town today, but Apple is taking it upon themselves to also cater to one of their in-hosue apps, Podcasts. Since the Podcast app’s release back in June, reviews and comments of the app have been critical and rarely glowing. Reports of frequent lock-ups, slowdowns and crashes fill the App Store review page and websites across the web.
While the detailed features of the new update are not known, sources of AllThingsD claim the update is going live today and will address many of the complaints people have voiced thus far.
We tried out the Podcasts app at launch and found that when it worked, it was generally alright. If Apple can truly nip the performance issues in the rear and add a feature or two (like iCloud syncing), we might give Podcasts another shot. That said, Instacast is still our personal favorite. You?
