By now you’ve probably heard about a rumored 8-pin dock connector (possibly Magsafe-ish) that is allegedly coming to the next-gen iPhone as tipped by iLounge’s sources. The more eye raising leak, however, is tossed further down in the same post outing the 8-pin dock connector, and revolves around Bluetooth 4 and interconnectivity.
Specifically, according to iLougne’s sources, the Bluetooth 4 link functionality is an undisclosed feature that is coming in iOS 6 that will allow the next-gen iPhone and other Bluetooth 4 compatible devices to link and share data between each other. For example, phone calls could be routed to a non-cellular iDevice with Bluetooth 4 (or even your Mac). Similarly, iMessage alerts could be pushed to all local devices connected via Bluetooth 4 as well.
While this could be nothing more than a simple pipe dream of some day dreaming source, we think it would be a great “one more thing” piece.
