MIUI Mi-2: 1.5 GHz Quad Core, 2 GB RAM, 4.3″ Retina Display – $313 USD.

The Mi-One was an outstanding Android device both in terms of appearance and performance. What made it better, though, is that it was priced low – ~$400 USD. Well, the brains behind the Mi-One are back with a new version, the Mi-2. And like it’s predecessor, the Mi-2 is pushing the bar by incorporating the latest mobile hardware, sexy design and once again, a bargain of a price allegedly coming in at ~$313 USD.

Specs for the Mi-2:

  • 4.3 inches high PPI retina screen, 1280×720
  • Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 1.5Ghz CPU
  • 2GB RAM
  • 16GB ROM
  • Adreno 320 graphics chip (allegedly comparable to Xbox 360 in terms of power/performance)
  • 8-megapixel (front)/2-megapixel (rear) with 1080p video recording
  • 2000 mAh 3000 mAh battery upgrades
  • Ships with Android 4.1.x Jelly Bean

With phones like the Galaxy S III and One X floating around, can the Mi-2 stand a chance? Well, for now (and likely forever) the Mi-2 is a non-U.S. device, so any purchases will have to be made online. Likewise, since it isn’t a U.S. device marketing of the Mi-2 will be zilch meaning most common folk will never know what it is. Sad in some ways, yes. But the true nerds out their will openly welcome the Mi-2 into their homes U.S. supporting or not.
