AMD fans looking to score a deal on one of the company’s many GPU offerings can pat themselves on the back as Anandtech is reporting that the company will announce/release another round of price cuts across the board later this week. As you can see above, the latest round makes AMD’s entire line a little bit more enticing in an effort to nab a few sales from competitor, Nvidia.
For those of you eyeing a high-end 7970, give yourself a round of applause because the upcoming price after recent price cuts has chopped a solid $120 off of the original launch price, falling from $549 down to $429. The next closest card (7950) will see a healthy $110 knocked off its original price with the upper mid-range 7870 also seeing a fat $100 discount. Even at the bottom end there are deals to be made. The Radeon 7770 has fallen from $159 to $119 ($40 off) and the 7750 from $109 to $99.
Despite Nvidia’s new GTX 660Ti (it’s really a fantastic card for the price) and Nvidia’s larger spread of potent, powerful GPUs, are mere price cuts enough to usher you into AMD’s camp or is raw performance more important than the price tag?
