Say what you will about AT&T being the real world equivelent of Satan, the network is doing one right. Today, AT&T announced along with T-Mobile a network sharing initiative to help the citizens of New York and New Jersey after Hurricane Sandy demolished countless square miles of land and impacted tens of thousands of families’ lives.

Under the aggreement, customers will be able to place calls and operate their phones as they normally would, with their calls/data be carried by whichever network is the strongest at any given point/location. The roaming will be seamless on the end users’ side.

Big props to AT&T and T-Mobile. This wasn’t something that was required or mandated. They just did it based on basic human compassion. +1 guys.
