The great thing about the new lightning connector is that it is smaller. Also….well…that’s pretty much it. While Apple didn’t really go all out with their new connector, the space savings alone is enough reason to be happy after dealing with the 30-pin connector for so many years. The only problem for consumers thus far, though, has been Apple’s clamping down on third-party accessories that make use of the new connector. Specifically, Apple is requiring strict certification and licensing to use the new port meaning manufacturers are way behind. Instead of coming into the iPhone 5 world (the first device to get the new port) with plenty of charing/syncing accessories to choose from, customers were left with practically nothing.
Today, Scosche has some new gear that is specifically made with the new Lightning port in mind. Let’s take a look.
