9 more markets will soon see “LTE” on their status bars in the coming months thanks to Sprint’s break-neck pace they’re moving at with their LTE rollout. The following areas are currently under development and should start popping up as the end of the year draws closer:

  • Arkansas: Fort Smith
  • California: Fremont, Hayward, Oakland
  • Florida: Key West
  • Indiana: Bloomington, La Porte, Michigan City
  • Minnesota: Minneapolis/St. Paul
  • Texas: Edinburg, McAllen, Mission
  • Wisconsin: Eau Claire

Since the rise of smartphones in recent years (particularly the 3G iPhone on Sprint), Sprint’s had trouble keeping non-4G speeds from spreading around their customer base. Moving to LTE should help two-fold – bring far faster LTE speeds to millions of users while also off-loading their stressed 3G network, making it faster for people still using it, too.

If you happen to see the LTE go live where you live in one of the markets above, go ahead and send a few speedtest screenshots our way!
