Western Digital Ups Black Line To 4 TB

4 TB hard drives aren’t new. Both consumers and enterprise options alike have seen the 4 TB crossed many months back. But today, Western Digital has something slightly new aimed at consumers – 4 TB Caviar Black hard drives.

The Caviar Black line isn’t as fast as the company’s 10,000 RPM Velociraptor drives. Then again, said drives also feature much less storage, too. Still, with SATA III connectivity, 64 MB of cache and a 7,200 RPM rotational speed, they’re not “slow” either. Pricing is, as one would expect, on the higher end of things at $339. Also, the drives come with a standard 5-year warranty.

If 4 TB is a tad too much there’s always Western Digital’s other Caviar Black options: 500 GB, 1 TB, 1.5 TB and 2 TB.
