Gmail is one of the most popular email services used around the world and caters to many loyal users across multiple platforms. And whether you’re a power user or not, it’s not hard to come to the conclusion that their iOS app has been lacking. That ends today with Gmail for iOS 2.0.

Say hello to the Sparrow infused Gmail app that iOS users have been waiting for.

New updates are plentiful and include things like revamped UI, multi-account support (finally!), profile pictures in messages, new animations and transitions, autocomplete predictions as you type, RSVP to Google Calendar invites as well as the ability to +1/comment on Google+ posts directly from the new app.

We’ve only been using the app a few minutes but are much happier with the new look and features, especially the multi-account support. It appears the once loved Sparrow app acquired by Google earlier this year is finally having its team and talent put to good use. That said, according to MG Siegler, the Sparrow team actually had nothing to do with the new update.

If you’re a seasoned Gmail user on iOS and want a better Gmail experience than the stock mail app offers, this is now your best option.
