CES 2013: UNU – The World’s First All-In-One Tablet, Gaming Console and Smart TV System

Originally displayed under the name “Snakebyte Eins” at Gamescon 2012, the UNU is celebrating it’s World Premiere at this year’s CES here in Las Vegas. This all-in-one entertainment experience is unlike anything you’ve seen before. Whether you need a tablet, a docking station on your TV or a handheld gaming console, you have all this and more at your fingertips with the UNU, giving you access to games, videos, music, apps, mobile web surfing and email.

The UNU, packed with a custom UI is a tablet first, but opens the user’s experience up to so much more, packed with a docking station, a game controller and an air mouse, offering optimal gaming, media and a smart TV experience. The docking station can quickly connect the tablet to your TV giving you access to all your media and games on the big screen, and you can maneuver the system via the game controller or air mouse while the tablet is docked.

The Air Mouse creates a comfortable and intuitive interaction with the UI while sitting on the couch, giving you the ability to play touch-screen based games on the TV. The back of the Air Mouse features a full-fledged keyboard which will make the internet, email and social media posting a breeze.

The game controller will shine for those games that are optimized for controllers as if they were being played on a real console. Snakebyte, who has been designing and manufacturing gaming peripherals for more than 15 years, has worked hard on this controller based gaming solution. Many games with controller support have already been release, and that list keeps growing, but thanks to the integrated button mapping app, games without native controller support can also be enjoyed with the UNU game controller.

UNU isn’t just a stationary gaming console, they are branching out and creating a complete experience for the user, offering the Smart TV ability as well as putting a tablet in the consumers hands. We look forward to the hands-on we will hopefully get at their booth and we’ll make sure to keep you up-to-date. Stay tuned!
