If you’re into HTC’s revamped Sense 5 UI but can’t or don’t want to (what’s wrong with you) upgrade, you’re in luck. HTC announced on their Facebook Fan Page that a Sense 5 update for older devices such as the One X, One X+, One S and Butterfly will be released in the coming months. The only bad part per say is that HTC throws around the word “Global” in regards to which devices are getting upgraded. For U.S. users, that means there’s a possibility older hardware won’t get the same Sense 5 update at the same time if at all. Truth is, U.S. markets often get new updates many weeks or months after global variants. And all too often, unfortunately, we get left out of new updates altogether.
Even if U.S. residents get left out of the official upgrade party, those with know-how to care will have it up and running on their rooted devices much sooner than HTC or their carrier of choice would have made possible anyway. And on that note, it’s nice to see HTC at least making the effort for someone, even if it isn’t us.
