Wireless document delivery on Kindle set to cost you more. [Super]

If you are an avid Amazon Kindle user and routinely transfer large documents wirelessly to and fro using Whispernet, you are in for a rude awakening – to the tune of a minimum 50% increase in wireless transfer charges. [Gasps] Say it ain’t so. Sorry, but it is very so. The old $0.10 flat fee that covered everything from a single byte transfer to that monstrous 400MB transfer will now be billed according to total size. What is the new cost that you find...

Accerssorize your microwave with “Microwave Stickers”

One of the key examples of a recession is the plethora of start-ups you see springing up from all areas of the market. Some ideas brought forth are in fact ingenious, others…not so much. I’ll let you decide on this one. Have you ever looked at your microwave, your little box on the counter that makes snack time come all the more quicker and though to yourself: “Golly gee, I sure to wish I could make my microwave look like an aquarium.” If you are...

Bring new age tech to old age farming world [Digital Scarecrow]

Bring new age tech to old age farming world [Digital Scarecrow]

Scarecrows are pretty simply objects.  They have the sole purpose of remaining static, keeping an ever watchful eye over the land and scaring of any predator that should come and try to steal the fruits of some dear farmers hard labor.  I’m not active in the scarecrow scene, so I can’t really say how much (or little) scarecrows have come in the last couple decades or even centuries.  All I can tell you right now is that if they haven’t made any big...

Palm Pre too big and ugly for ya…how about a Mini-Pre?

Palm Pre too big and ugly for ya…how about a Mini-Pre?

The Palm Pre hasn’t even been released yet, however that isn’t stopping Palm from grabbing the cellphone market by the horns and trying to own the market like they used to.  While rumors of a smaller “iPhone nano” have been persistent on the web, nothing has materialized either physically, or in writing.  Many even suspect that Apple doesn’t want to have a stratified line up of phones.  Palm on the other hand isn’t taking the slow road...

If you are a frequent Facebook visitor, take heed and know that there are some baddies out there today trying to steal your info.  If you get a message that says (replace “YOURFRIEND” with a real friends name):   YOURFRIEND sent you a message. Subject: Hello “Visit http://www.facebook.com/l/4253f;http://fbaction.net/” DON’T FOLLOW THE LINK!  You’ll notice in the picture, the link so nicely circled by Tech Crunch is not Facebook.  Therefore,...

Office 2010 interface gets spied – looks good

Office junkies are no doubt looking forward to the next update, Microsoft Office 2010.  While it isn’t bringing any new major updates to the table (that we know of yet), pictures always make people happy.  Above is a screenshot of the Office showing off a unique voicemail feature.  At first glance, the new interface actually looks pretty darn good looking.  Office 2010 looks as if it will be quite a worthwhile upgrade as far as design is goes.  Do you like the...

24 hours with Firefox 3.5 beta 4

After having some time to play with Firefox 3.5 beta 4, I have to say that I like it – I like it a lot.  So far I have been using it pretty extensively putting it through its paces.  The best news, it works with WordPress without any glitches unlike Safari 4 beta.  As expected most of my plugins and themes don’t yet work with 3.5 beta 4, but give it time, the support will come.  As mentioned yesterday, 3.5 beta 4 almost gets a perfect score on the Acid 3...

Crackberry users that claim residence in London will soon be the envy of many European friends as RIM is looking to open their first European store right in London.  The new store will be located in Selfridges flagship department store and operated by Carphone Warehouse.  Some loose lipped Slefridges employees have let it slip that we can look forward to this new found Berry goodness opening within the next couple of months, providing European Crackberry users a place to...
