The fast paced way of life demands more and more from us each and every day. It seems society as a whole tries to cram in just one more thing into whatever spare seconds we have. When it gets down to it, some people may not even have time to type out full words and sentences, resorting to characteristic text message language such as LOL and BTW among others. Even then, some people are finding themselves strapped for time. For those individuals, I have the tool just for them -- the LOL Keyboa...

Bobble heads they are not. Light they do not shine. These seemingly clever gadgets appear to at first be another geeky lamp. Upon closer inspection however, you'll quickly notice they are in fact speakers. What's different from normal Star Wars themed gimmicky gadgets is that these actually look really well done. That is of course based on physical looks alone.
How do they actually sound? That is another story -- one that I cannot answer unfortunately. And without a spec sheet to run t...

Think sound quality are the only things people care about when purchasing headphones and in this case, ear buds? Well, it shouldn't be any surprise that the answer to that question is actually a pretty loud and resounding "No". Hell, if it where, half of Japan's headphone business would be wiped out. Their at times odd fascination with the more "creative" side of headphone design has created some of the more elaborate designs I've seen in simple sonic devices. At the same time, that design a...

Tired of having to constantly replace batteries in all of your wireless devices? I know I am. Throwing away cash and time on batteries is no one's chosen task in life. Wireless computer accessory makers routinely tout their devices and products life-span on a single set of batteries. In regards to wireless mice and keyboards, a solid 10-18 months isn't out of the norm. I generally don't have any complaints either. A solid year seems good enough, right?
Not to Logitech. Announced today,...

iPhone users regardless of race, age, sex, etc. all have one thing in common -- their batteries could be better. iPhone batteries that is. Don't get me wrong, the iPhone does a great job of squeezing out the most juice possible with what it's given. But if you've ever seen a tear down or spec sheet of the iPhone/3G/3GS, you'll know "what it's given" isn't that much -- 1400mAh for the original iPhone and 1150mAh for the 3G/3GS. The 3rd party accessory market is full of battery extenders and c...

When taking pictures in low light conditions, using a flash often casts an unnatural, harsh directional light on the subjects or focal point in the picture. Professional photographers often make use of umbrella like attachments that help diffuse light and give it a more natural glow. But we're not all photographers with countless attachment bags or the associated deep pockets that it takes to buy such equipment. Thankfully nifty and affordable attachment called the "Lightscoop" may just have ...
Major Nelson says Stevie was wrong/confused/doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about — Blu-ray still not coming to Xbox 360

Remember that bit of Steve Ballmer loose lip that went down many hours prior to this very second? During an interview, Steve was quoted as saying not specifically saying that Xbox 360 hardware was to see Blu-ray add-on accessories, but that if the Xbox were to get Blu-ray, it would be via external forms. Many including myself took this as a sort of admission by omission if you know what I mean. Side stepping hot topics often leaves the Balms in a stuttering incoherent state, this wasn't any...

**Update: Ya, not so much. 'ol Stevie was off his rocker and was probably confused. That's what Major Nelson is saying anyway.
Thank you Mr. Steve "The Balms" Ballmer for your clownish persona and loose lips. You may have just given us some hope for ways of enjoying HD content other than Xbox live. In an interview with Gizmodo's Wilson Rothman, Steve Ballmer says the following when questioned about the potential for Blu-ray support coming to the Xbox line:
Well I don't know if we nee...

When new gadgets come out rendering our once prized possessions, our older gadgets, we are often caught up in a moment of love at first sight as we anxiously calculate in our heads many times over the finances needed to pick up the latest electronic gizmo that has captured our fancy, reassuring ourselves that we can in fact afford said device. (Whether we actually can or not is another issue all together). So often however we forget that there isn't just the device itself but many other acce...
Apple’s In-ear headphones now available!

I would consider myself pretty close to an audiophile. I use AAC 256 for music on my iPhone because of space limitations and the battery life is already terrible enough. However, I have an old iRiver iHP-120 that to this day trumps ANY player available. With that, I use FLAC. I have also been through many headphones. From Shure e2's to my current Super.fi 5 Pro's. The latest being $249. Expensive by more casual listeners perspective, but on the audiophile side they are pretty reasonable f...
