While most of things that pass my eye and make their way onto the front page of Gadgetsteria have some sort of electronic circuit in them or aid something with an electronic circuit in them, this particular innovative geekified object was too good to pass up. Let me ask you a question. Have you ever been in the situation when the light was a little lacking, your bowels are screaming for mercy, and there is not bathroom/port-a-potty/soft grassy patch behind a tree in sight? For many nomads and campers, this is a daily occurrence. For others, such a scenario is practically a death sentence. But it doesn’t have to be. How so? Thank the inventors of glow in the dark toilet paper.
While it won’t help you find a place to “go”, it will at least make those midnight bowel emptying excursions into the unknown a tad more bearable. At first the concept of lgow in the dark toilet paper may sound a little crazy and pointless, just think of how helpful it would be in the middle of a pitch black woods. Wouldn’t want to go it alone without any light would you? God forbid your hand slips…. £5/$8 USD (pre-order….available from September 30th) entitles you to happier lightless pooping. I’ll take two cases please.
Happy Pooping!

Having a visual disability is one that I couldn’t imaging living with and one that I hope I never have to. Still, countless human beings are victim to the darkness day in and day out. Perhaps the worst case, losing your eyesight sometime after birth, can cause the individual to sorely miss the things they once looked at daily. Worse still, what if an artist lost their sight? What would they do? A unique concept called “Touchcolor” aims to remedy those artistically gifted yet visually impaired by employing two unique methods to help those who can’t see, “see” color. Of course, since they can’t really see, they actually will touch and feel color. How so you ask? The Touchcolor concept features Braille dots on each color as well as a separate temperature corresponding to each color. So not only can they read each color with Braille, they can literally feel blue, purple, red, orange, etc by way of various amounts of LED lights to create heat…or lack there of. Coupled with the graphics tablet which records the users color, pressure, and line drawn, the visually impaired artist can once again enjoy creating works of art for the world to see even if they can’t.
It isn’t a secret that when you lose one of your senses, the one or more other senses get stronger in order to make up for the downfall of one. Gadgets such as the Touchcolor are but one small way we can make the lives of countless humans easier and more enjoyable.
