File this under wishful thinking and rumor x2. An interesting thought from the Nokia blog written by Mark Guim brings up a very perplexing question: “What if Apple announced an iPhone at Macworld, complete with 5+ MP camera, slide out keyboard and a release of early-mid 2009? Would it be the death of the Nokia N97? Mark thinks so. I don’t think the outcome would be quite as dramatic. iPhone and Nokia users are more or less pretty far apart. Nokia users (of more advanced models anyway) tend to be feature freaks. They want any and every feature under the sun. Now does having all of those features jam packed into a tiny phone make it a jack of all trades master of none?

Pictures of a so called Product (Red) iPhone have been making there way through the many miles of wire on the web early this afternoon. If you at all familiar with Product (Red) it is a an organization formed by many big corporations that donate money to AIDS research. Apple is one of the many companies involved that sell special edition models of various products with the (Product) Red branding donating a certain amount to the (Product) Red cause. Looking at comparison shots between past (Product) Red products and the Red iPhone show that there isn’t any (Product) Red branding, quickly putting this rumor to rest. When did it come from? It is quite possibly a Colorware case or some home mod. Either way it isn’t real. Continue on to see the comparison shots.

*IMAGE IS NOT ACTUAL IPHONE NANO!!!*
Rumors of an iPhone nano started cropping up a couple of months ago, only to die down a few weeks later. However in the last couple weeks the rumor mills have flared up again driving the iPhone nano madness to the brink of almost credibility. Now, even more “credible” sources such as Vaja, an established Apple accessory maker, are linking to information about upcoming products, more importantly iPhone nano sized products. While I like to stay up to the second on tech news, I try to make the news as truthful as possible, but with as much momentum as this is gaining its hard to ignore. I personally don’t see the point of a cheaper iPhone nano. I mean, you can get a refurbished 8gig iPhone for $99 so how much lower can the really go with an iPhone nano. Not only that, but if you can’t afford to spend $100-200 on a phone, I don’t really think you can afford the minimum of $70 a month for the iPhone plans. The only draw I can see is the smaller foot print of the phone, although, i don’t think that there is that much draw for a smaller iPhone. Whatever the case the rumors keep coming. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what Macworld holds.
