Rumors make the world go round. They stir up controversy, debate, innovation, and excitement just to name a few. Today’s Apple rumor-o-the-day focuses on discounts, monthly service discounts to be exact. With the iPhone while still very cool though starting to grow a bit long in the tooth is nearing the 3 year mark, Apple and AT&T both know they need to keep the creative and innovative juices flowing, not to mention the cash. So far, just about all of the software based upgrades are backwards compatible with older iPhones, (except MMS and stereo bluetooth on the original iPhone), also, I can’t see too much of a difference hardware wise. Sure a better resolution camera/video support would be phenomenal, and is expected, though it is anything hardly earth shattering. Unless Apple has something crazy up their sleeve, the rather bland updates software and hardware wise that the updated iPhone line is to receive in the near future, AT&T may have to pick up some of the slack. How so? Discounted iPhone plans. The latest guess comes from The Street’s Michael Cote. He suggests $10 off of the $69 entry level plan would be about right. What do you think? Would saving $10 a month get you to buy in to the new iPhone whether you currently have one or not? What other ideas do you have for the almight death star that could turn their image and reputation around?
