Could the Sprint “Moment” be the T-Mobile Bigfoot?

**Speculation alert!!

I am falling hard for Android. So much so I am constantly checking the calendar to see when my contract is up on AT&T so I can hop back over to my good ‘ol friend TMO. Ever since the TMO Android road map leaked several months back, I’ve had my eye on the “Bigfoot” moniker. I loved the G1′s approach: touchscreen and slide out qwerty, though the overall design wasn’t quite my cup of tea. However, the mockup pics of the Bigfoot in the roadmaps is actually pretty nifty. Though here we are several months later with not a peep coming from anyone about this device.

Now take a look at Sprint’s freshly announced InstinctQ “The Moment” (left). (name change?) Doesn’t it sorta kinda if you stretch the limits of your mind bear a similar resemblance to the bigfoot (pictured right)? What do you think? The picture of the Bigfoot is several months old meaning the device could have undergone some physical changes. Changes that are now seen on the Moment. Think I’m on to something? Is the Moment also the Bigfoot?

Let your thoughts run amuck in the carefully constructed comment box inside.

Samsung T939 to be Samsung Bigfoot/Galaxy? Coming to T-Mobile USA?

If you love slaving through FCC documents and website html looking for places that site admins and FCC employees slip up, you may find this next tidbit right up your little alley. Looking at the picture above, we can all deduce that an Android phone by Samsung codenamed the T939 will *hopefully* very soon make it’s way to the public spot light on TMO USA. Now, we all know TMO USA is looking to get the Samsung Bigfoot into our hands before ’09 wraps up. We also already know that the Samsung Bigfoot was listed as having specs such as a 3.2″ AMOLED touchscreen display along with speedy wifi included. Supported frequency bands (a good indicator of which carrier will be picking this up) are still a no show. It is a stretch at this point to try and match this T939 mystery device to any of the known up and coming devices. Still…

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this phone could be the Samsung Bigfoot that many of us have been waiting for. Android power house device with touchscreen and a keyboard. Of course, it could also be the Samsung Galaxy as an actual slide-out keyboard isn’t mentioned in this particular document. Heck, it could even be the replacement to the Behold, cleverly named the Behold 2. Even more of a stretch, could the Behold 2 morph into or replace the inside code name of Bigfoot or Galaxy?

Still, I’m going to place my apples in the Bigfoot basket because frankly…that’s all I want! While this is all pure speculation for now, with certain specs starting to match up, I wouldn’t be surprised if we are watching the early stages of the Bigfoot being publicly born. Excited?

Samsung “Bigfoot” and “Spico” to debut featuring Android OS 2.0 “Donut”

While many Android users are still waiting for that staggered rollout of Android OS 1.5 “Cupcake”, Samsung is already past the hype and is instead looking further forward.  Starting with the hardware, Samsung is expected to let loose two new handsets in Q3 of ’09, the Bigfoot and Spico.  Going off of the image above, the Spico (on left) and Bigfoot (not left) will both feature a more spacious 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen display.  The Bigfoot however ups the ante by also including a slide out qwerty keyboard for all of those heavy texters as well as T-Mobile flavored 3G.  (Finally TMO is getting *consistent* 3G goodness.  But the real shocker and exciting thing to watch for is that both of these phones are scheduled to debut with Android OS 2.0 “Donut”.  What is Donut and will it be as sweet as Cupcake?

Bigfoot spotted, still mysterious!

G1 users who are happily going through their everyday life carrying around their Android device powered by T-Mobile will very soon have something new to lust over: Bigfoot.  Wait…what?  According to a leaked TMO roadmap document, the device known as “Bigfoot” will be the G1 part deux. (Top spot furthest right uncensored column)  Slated on the road map to debut this coming fall, we will have to wait and see if things stay on schedule or the never welcome delay train pulls into station.  Spec wise there isn’t even the slightest rumor to announce or play off of.  However judging by the teeny tiny picture we can see that it will be a more “centered” device that will make texting and staring at the screen in landscape mode a little less goofy.  Does anyone kind of think the G1 v2/Bigfoot looks kind of like the now defunt Neo Freerunner…obviously with the addition of a sliding keyboard?
