Real Angry Birds Cake…That You Can Actually Play.

  • February 21, 2011 7:12 am

If you’ve spent any time wondering the halls here at GS, you know that we have an unhealthy obsession with Angry Birds. We’ve seen all kinds of articles of clothing, videos, games, toys, and food items. On the subject of food items, making an Angry Birds-themed treat isn’t all that difficult or unique anymore. However, ElectricPig’s own Mike Cooper went above and beyond with an actual Angry Birds cake…that you can actually play. Hop on past the break to check out 10 hours worth of work reduced to 2 minutes of destruction…

Twitter Fail Whale Cake

  • July 2, 2010 4:22 pm

I’ve never had a time in my life where I’ve thought to myself: “Man, I would love to see the Twitter Fail Whale right now.” Except this time, in the form of a cake, I couldn’t get enough of it. Fail Whale Cake anyone?

Darth Vadar as a house wife…

  • February 18, 2010 9:07 am

This one is for the Star Wars fans. I won’t rule out a specific gender as…well…it could really go either way.

Darth Vadar was always portrayed as this hard ass dude with a big black helmet, scary voice, and heart of cold steel. But deep down inside, he was a much softer, gentler man. He liked cats. He had a pet fish. Long walks were his favorite past time. And he loved, loved baking. Word is he cooked a mean Ewok pie.

If you’d like to touch upon this darker side of cooking, now you and yours can tap into everything that makes dark cooking what it is. For $19.99 you get the uber cool apron and that sense of dark evil. The mask unfortunately is not included. Though I’m sure a quick trip to Toys-R-Us could net your a suitable, cheap stand-in. Who’s ready to bake?

The ultimate birthday cake: The “Pac-Man arcade console cake”

  • February 9, 2010 7:22 pm

This year for your birthday, don’t settle for just any cake. Normal people eat normal cake. We’re far from normal here at Gadgetsteria. And chances are ,if you’ve come here more than once, you too fit the same bill that we do. Hey, don’t take it as a criticism. It takes a special kind of person to be a geek. Aaaaaand back on topic…

The traditional cake is out. The geek cake is in. What exactly constitutes a geek cake? Anything really. It doesn’t necessarily have to be an electronic or gadget. Though those things certainly don’t hurt. If I had to vote on what I thought was “the ultimate” geek cake, something retro would definitely come to mind. Pac-Man perhaps?

What you’re looking at above is the work of Seattle’s Jet City Cakes. Attention to detail and all the little trinkets weren’t spared. Everything form the red tipped joystick to the Pac-Man dots on screen to the fake coin slot — this cake has it all. Better than any tricky design however is the message. In this case, it’s a heart warmer. All I can say is that I hope my kids look up to their dad and feel the need to buy him an ultra geeky cake, Pac-Man or not.

Almost a shame to eat such a work of art isn’t it?

If you’re a gadget enthusiast and a baker, or you simply have a massive sweet tooth, the creation above created by New York based BCake will put you over the sugar high edge. The masterpiece as you can see goes beyond your typical cake in that there are numerous angles, edges, and shapes that truly show BCake’s skills and abilities to create some really good looking cake. Looking at the pictures, one can see a Macbook Pro, mighty mouse, and iPhone made completely out of cake. Going the extra mile, other miscellaneous desktop objects such as pencils, sticky notes, etc made out of pure sugar…*perfect bedtime snack for little johnny*. There are more pictures inside to drool over and get your sweet tooth sent into over drive. Even if I were in the position to be in the same room with such a masterpiece of geekiness and bakery goodness, even though I would be highly drawn to chowing down like none other, I simply couldn’t or wouldn’t want to destroy something so beautiful. Would you? Remember, if you’re ever in the New York neighborhood check out BCake. Of course, you can always stop by their website. More pictures inside.
