The UK gets it: iPhone 4 sold unlocked directly from Apple

Fancy an iPhone 4 but don’t want to deal with ridiculous policies and shoddy service offered by the nations most reliable network AT&T? You pretty much out of luck in the land of stars and stripes. But, if you can find a friend or family member who lives in the UK to do the dirty purchasing deed for you, it would be worth your while. Apple is selling iPhone 4 hardware unlocked straight from the factory for UK customers. The only requirement is that you have a...

Good news: AT&T to allow back-ordered iPad owners to still pick up that $30 unlimited plan.

Good news: AT&T to allow back-ordered iPad owners to still pick up that $30 unlimited plan.

The bad news is AT&T is sticking firm to their asinine excuse for a tethering plan, not to mention the whole bait & switch ordeal that they subjected iPad customers to. But alas, at least those of you who ordered an iPad but are looking at a depressing 7-10 day way can take some comfort in knowing that AT&T (and probably with some help, Apple) will still allow you to sign up for that soon-to-be-gone $30 unlimited data plan. Bravo AT&T/Apple *rolls...

AT&T apologizes for asinine C&D customer service response.

AT&T apologizes for asinine C&D customer service response.

Yesterday we highlighted a not too friendly AT&T CEO by the name of Randell Stephenson, whom after receiving a couple emails from a less than happy customer, deferred the customer to customer service. The only problem was that instead of trying to help the customer, AT&T CS sent him a C&D order. Today the tables have changed however, with AT&T PR going into overdrive (again) with the following statement… We are apologizing to our customer....

Facebook launches “0.facebook.com”. Data charges non-existent!

And then there’s the catch. More on that in a second. But to start, we’ll simply get the free whaling out of our system — FREE FREE FREE! As in, no data charges free you see. This miniature revolution comes by way of Facebook’s newly launched 0.facebook.com which is a slightly more stripped down version of m.facebook.com (and that was pretty stripped) whose main goal is to make your data footprint next to nothing. The clincher however is that...

AT&T users, stop complaining: “High-end” iPad 3G data plan by O2 UK offers measly 3GB for £15 ($22.43)/month

AT&T users, stop complaining: “High-end” iPad 3G data plan by O2 UK offers measly 3GB for £15 ($22.43)/month

We’ve heard it many times: AT&T sucks! Whether it be directed towards customer service or pricing in general, AT&T hasn’t caught much flack lately. The general consensus is that $30+/month for data is overpriced. And in reality, it is. But even AT&T’s pricing looks angelic when compared to overseas carriers. European data users are routinely subjected to data plans that are both higher priced and lacking in the data allotment area. With...
