Do you enjoy jailbreaking your iPhone, installing whatever you want on it, and even skinning it with some god awful Windows theme (there are a few pretty good looking ones actually)? Well open that drawer of interesting things to try out and get ready to stow another option. If you like the idea of a larger or more accommodating dock but don't like how simply adding more icons distorts the overall visual appeal, "Infinidock" is for you. The concept is easy. Simply drag and add icons to y...
  • Charge your iPhone like it’s 1984 with the NES Gun iPhone dock

Back in 1984, cellphones were at their most primitive stages. They weren't cool looking, didn't have fancy shmancy processors like Snapdragon, and most of all, wouldn't even fit in a small to medium sized bag. In the current year of 2009, cellphones/smartphones are now taking over more aspects of our lives as they become miniature computers. Sometimes though it's fun to recapture those "glory days" back when technology was ugly and unsightly. The current high fashion gadget as most would...

If you're looking at the image above wondering if it's plausible....or even fully working, I can honestly say yes, yes it is. The photo above shows the end result of an old Sega Genesis tear down by Wired's Charlie Sorrel. According to Charlie, their was plenty of room to jam some small speakers inside and make this Japanese Genesis belt out tunes in line with some of the greater iPod docks. But in the end he choose to keep things nice and simple. Hey, I'm simply amazed in wonderment at the ...
  • Ideas for iPhone Springboard 2.0
    by Mike
    Posted October 12th, 2009 at 9:54 am
The iPhone OS has come quite a ways since 1.0. Besides the often mentioned Cut,Copy, & Paste, many other enhancements both "under the hood" and visual have been implemented. However one feature that has gone wholly unchanged is springboard. Ok, you can swipe far left to reveal spotlight searching. So what. Big whoop. That isn't that big of an update. The kind of update I'm talking about is that of navigating apps and springboard itself. The uber simple individual icon/grid approach that...

One of the main draws to the iPhone is the touchscreen only design making it smaller as well as giving users access to countless keyboards and languages without the need for costly hardware changes. However, some people still want a bit more physical interaction in their lives. Introducing the iTwinge. For those of you who just simply must have something to touch, this little doo dad slips over the bottom half of the iPhone that is normally displaying a keyboard and gives you something a li...
  • Need some juice? Dino-dock here to save the day!

    Posted August 17th, 2009 at 12:07 pm
While novelty flash drives are pretty hot right now, iPhone/iPod docks have their own faithful following. Anything big enough to stuff in a few charging internals for a charging Apple dock is taking over do-it-yourselfers and other tinkers. The latest in the land of creata-a-gadgets comes in the form of a dinosaur iPhone dock. The mod is quite simple actually -- an unsuspecting dinosaur gets his back excavated to in order to accommodate the required charging components. The dino-dock prob...

Following yesterdays showing of the NES Controller Doorbell, the iconic little controller is moving on and singing a different tune today. Mr. NES can now add iPhone dock to the list of alter egos. Nintendo junkies who love 80's tech will definitely want to make one of these for themselves. Those of you who are already whipping out your wallets might want to hold off as it isn't for sale. Though, interested parties can try to find a way to contact the creator, iPhone.fr forum member WCR, a...
