Ferrari Espresso Machine oozes extravagance. If only it were real…

If there’s one thing Ferrari owners generally have copious amounts of, it’s money. Lots of it. So much so, they’re willing to spend ridiculously overpriced amounts for anything with a Ferrari logo on it. I can’t judge though. I’d probably have a similar bit of loyalty myself if I was giving a particular company hundreds of thousands of dollars too. Nevertheless, I’m sure plenty of Ferrari owners have dreamt of a morning in which they could wake up to a fresh cup of espresso from their uber special, limited edition Michael Schumacher Ferrari Helmet Espresso machine.

Concept for now. But all it takes is one aspiring entrepreneur and outrageous licensing fees for this simple concept to become reality. Any taker?

MyTouch Slide is the real deal. Flaunts itself in pictures.

It appears as if T-Mobile is continuing on their path to create this mega “MyTouch” brand. The phone you see above is the MyTouch Slide, the claimed successor to the MyTouch 3G. For those of you keeping track, this particular gem has been called the “Espresso” from time to time within the inner Android circles.

The biggest difference here is of course the physical qwerty that slides out form underneath the display. Speaking of which, it’s disappointing to note that the display is only HVGA (480 x 320) and the processor equally average — 528MHz ARM11 processor. Getting this revamped MyTouch into your hands won’t happen until around May for a still TBD price however.

With the increasing push behind the MyTouch brand, many sources are calling it the “Sidekick replacement” sighting that T-Mobile is in fact trying to move away from the Sidekick name and brand and moving towards a more (dare I say) sophisticated platform. Having a real physical qwerty doesn’t hurt either. I know there are still plenty of people who like ham fisting those tiny smartphone keys though, myself included.

Does a more physical MyTouch seem like a worthy addition?

HTC Hero II to include slide-out qwerty, Snapdragon absent.

hero-sliderThought that the mere news of a second generation HTC Hero coming at MWC was the only Hero 2 news you’d get today? Think again. The code below is just a smidgen of the mountain of code that comprises the HTC Espresso’s firmware. Even if you don’t know any type of code language, you can piece through the wording below and see that the next gen Hero will feature a slide out qwerty keyboard. The only disappointing thing is that the other specs we can see, such as screen resolution and processor, are exactly the same as the current gen Hero — and pretty much every other Android phone.

Why would HTC push out a second gen Hero with the exact same specs a good year after the original? The ARM 11 processor clocked at 528MHz was a premium option. Currently it’s the ARM A8 that takes the cake. Going into next year, the A8 still has room to grow and a dual-core mobile processor by ARM is drool inducing to say the least. With such technology on the horizon, why would HTC make use of the ARM 11 which is now a couple years old? Beats me. I’m still hopeful for the best. Just slightly disappointed that Snapdragon didn’t manage to sneak it’s way in. Eh, make your way inside and have a look for yourself…
