Palm puts the stop sticks on all webOS device production!? [Update]

Palm puts the stop sticks on all webOS device production!? [Update]

Update: All is well in Palm/webOS land. Appears Palm was just looking out after workers because of the Chinese New Year. Nothing else to see, move along. When you have one of the elite exec’s in the company call up the manufacturer and say “reduce output to 0 within a month”, it generally doesn’t foreshadow a happy ending. That’s precisely what Palm has done today however. According to OTR Global report, (3) separate sources have confirmed...

Sprint’s customer blood letting slowed to a small trickle.

Sprint’s customer blood letting slowed to a small trickle.

Sprint hasn’t been having the best of times the last several…years, but that isn’t stopping the company from putting out the occasionally optimistic and charismatic commercial telling us that everything is just fine and dandy. Well, it isn’t just fine and dandy as they’re still losing customers — albeit at a much slower pace. During the last 3 months of 2009, a total of 148,000 Sprint customers decided to defect and take their business...

EVDO Rev A to be succeeded by….EVDO Rev B. 9.3Mbps/5.4Mbps up/down speeds coming to a CDMA carrier near you.

Think CDMA is dead? Think again (unfortunately). While I may be using a CDMA carrier currently, that doesn’t mean I’m tattooing CDMA logos on my body and boycotting anything with a SIM card. As with all tech related material, CDMA has a pretty large group of followers who for whatever reason, aren’t planning on moving to GSM anytime soon. Thankfully, those with CDMA technology don’t have to sit idle and watch their GSM cousins enjoy all of the...

webOS training at VZW stores starts. Pre/Pixie launch can’t be too far off.

Back when the Palm Pre was launched, Sprint boasted of their exclusive deal with Palm concerning webOS. (A lot of good that did them…) Verizon countered with an “end of year” release of webOS themselves. Obviously they were a bit too excited as Sprint ended up being correct — that Verizon wasn’t getting any webOS love until 2010. Well, 2010 is just around the corner and tonight we can now feast our eyes upon the very training documents VZW...

Verizon Palm Pixie passes FCC? 2010 launch all but confirmed?

Verizon Palm Pixie passes FCC? 2010 launch all but confirmed?

Palm has had a rather tough time so far getting webOS off the ground. The Pre has more or less done pretty good though it’s short of what I’d call a blow out success. Still, Palm still has some fight (or is it just reflexes on a dead carcass now…?) left in them. The Palm Pixie isn’t as high end as the Pre, but it’s purpose in life isn’t to steal the hearts and minds of the high end market. The Pixie is meant to bring up the bottom end...
