Samsung Flagship Slips Out, Brings Specs With It.

  • November 12, 2010 12:32 am

Need another example that advancements in mobile technology are moving at a break neck pace? Take a gander at this leaked flyer showing the upcoming “Samsung Flagship”. The 1.2GHz processor, 16GB of onboard storage, and collection of HSUPA/HSDPA support certainly don’t look all too uncommon. It’s the physical design, Android 2.3 code base, and large, sAMOLED2 display that take the cake.

Speaking of the latter, the flyer oddly shows two resolutions — 4.3″ WVGA sAMOLED2 display and a 4.5″ WVGA sAMOLED display. I highly doubt Samsung would set up a production line for two nearly identical displays varying only by a scant 0.2″ in screen size. With that said, the “s” in front of and “2″ behind the AMOLED verbiage signals that Samsung has an even more super display in store for us next year. Though more recent reviews have shown very little difference exists (in the real world) between your good ‘ol LCD and AMOLED diplays.

Nonetheless, the Flagship looks like it will help usher in the next wave high-end devices as we enter 2011.

State of Nokia affairs: London flagship store going buy-bye

  • December 4, 2009 6:51 am

nokia-londonLondoners who made it a habit to routinely stop by their flagship Nokia store to try and and play with all of the Finish companies latest and greatest will have to find a new playground. Seeing as how Nokia’s market share and profits have been tanking in a downward spiral for the last several quarters, it’s no surprise retail outlets are getting the ax. All of that concrete and bodies to sustain said concrete cost money — money that Nokia doesn’t have. I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of it though. Nokia’s got some good stuff in the pipeline, now it’s just actually producing hits and getting to that finish line. For geek’s sake everywhere, I hope Nokia gets control of their ailing company and fast.
