If you’re like most typical Rock Band gamers, you’ve no doubt got random pieces of plasticized musical equipment strewn about your domain. It’s ok, we won’t judge you. But there are places you can turn for help. One such place is Level Up with their new Rock Band Ottoman. The ottoman not only stores the drums, but also features internal handles to hold guitars, and fitted pockets for the drum sticks and mics as well as the rest of the Rock Band peripherals. And, the ottomans are actually quite stylish I might add.
Currently, there are two version of the ottoman available — a “Back in Black” version for $89 and a “Skulls & Snakes” for $179. Jump inside for some pics…

If you’re the type that relishes in the past and misses the good ‘ol days of throwing $20 worth of quarters into an old arcade time and time again, this is the “coffee table” for you. Though don’t go sitting food and drinks on top of it’s toughed glass top anytime soon. For if you do, someone won’t be able to see the screen.
Packed with over 100 fully licensed games from Taito, Midway and Atari, as well as optional mini-PC, the Arcane Arcade Table by Surface Tension is designed to be the center piece and entertainment focal point of your living room. Between the deep catalog of classic games, built-in PC (optional), and Sonos Radio capabilities, how could you not want a table like this? Oh yeah, it has a slide out drawer hiding a bevy of buttons, joysticks, and rollerballs. Score!
And now, the part we never like to talk about — price. Plan on dropping a cool $5061 USD (appx. £3299) if you get the table + PC version. If you’ve got your own PC, however, forgo the optional add-on and save yourself over $1,000. What will it be — straight gaming or gaming + media center PC + drink holder? Be sure to stop inside and check out the gallery of visual goodness…
Chances are that if you work in a stuffy, cold, stereotypical business, these super sweet Super Mario Brothers filing cabinets will never see your eye’s gaze. But if you happen to trudge through the daily grind in a bit more friendly environment, pat yourself on the back, because you can rock something just like this in your little space.
Paired with countless other SMB themed material, you could create one hell of a work/play space.
Nothing says geek like a gigantic Space Invaders couch sitting front and center in your living room. Not only that, but this geeky piece of gaming culture actually looks really damn slick as well. Form and function all in one package — nice! Too bad it’s just a concept. Hopefully the designer gets this project in motion, because I want like ten of these things…
Most areas of our lives we love to geek out. In whatever ways possible, advertising our nerdy intentions is in some weird way, fulfilling. But there’s one area that many of us travel to each night that is void of any such geekery — our beds. Now some of you may still be rockin’ the Darth Vader or race car kiddie bed, but those are rare in our older years. Not to mention, most adults just don’t fit into such small containers. But this, this bed is for the king of nerds.
Developed by Visual Comfort and RB Vision, the “Sandman Bed” is a A/V junkies dream. In the foot board you have your typical stowaway spot for a large 40″ LCD TV. And then there’s the rest: LED backlit headboard, drawers not for clothes, but A/V equipment and optical disk drives, CAT5, and RF all packed into the frame. Adding to the luxury of such a finely crafted sleeping vessel are the options for various types of wood, leather, and upholstery finishes.
Looking for a price tag? £4995 ($7,630vUSD) will net you the luxury wood finish while £5995 ($9,150 USD) is required for the premium wood finish. Are you in the market for a $10k bed?
Tired of “normal” lighting fixtures that pollute every home improvement store you’ve been to? Me too! I don’t exactly like “normal” or blending in. I prefer to take the tastfully standing out approach to many aspects of life. As such, something as out there as a “book lamp” would fit in well at my house.
Take exhibit A above, a perfect example of downright cheap ingenuity. All you need is an old hardback book and a small compact light bulb. That’s it. A rather stylish, unique, and conversation starting end piece for your living room. Check out Instructables for the lowdown. Like?

Some of us are afraid of heights. Others are afraid of spiders *raises hand*. And then there are folks afraid of the dark. I wonder how scary the darkness would be with the aide of a LEGO Light molded to look exactly like the classic 2 x 2 cube many of us have grown up piecing together countless times? Ya, now it’ll be fun to turn out the lights…

While there are plenty of “eye level” home decor items that cater to the geek lifestyle, the very thing under our feet — the floor. Duh! — often gets ignored time and time again. I’ve often looked at my floor and thought how I could make it reflect my personality better. Ok, not really. But I’m sure some people have. And why not? Having some type of geeky floor layout/design is the extra icing on the cake. If a searchin’ you do go for said icing, perhaps some floppy disk tiles would suffice? Once on the bleeding edge of computers, floppies have become nothing more than a nuisance, piece of trash, joke, or some other undesirable social product. Nevertheless, if I walked into a house that had a floor of pieced together floppy disk tiles, I’d be geeked.
Unfortunately, these are only concepts at the moment. I know, you’re bummed. But hey, now that the idea is in your head, maybe you (or you over there) can get a plan in motion to bring us some floppy disk tiles. Would you use them?

Nothing says I’m a geek/I love retro stuff more than a pixelated pointing hand clothes hanger. Why not give your closet or hallway that added bit of nerd flare with a hanger such as the one pictured above? Installation is easy, the price is right, and it looks awesome to boot. What’s holding you back? If you plan on major renovations with the little pointer here, I’d hope your bank account can take the beating. For a few, the price doesn’t seem too unreasonable. But keep going to far past “a few”, and your wallet will weep for sure. Hey, whatever it takes to get the job done I guess. Anyone feelin’ it?
