  • September 14, 2011 11:02 am

For those of you out there that haven’t really found the bluetooth keyboard of your dreams, we might just have a solution for you. James Stumpf of Entrax has created what I feel might compliment that iPad or other tablet perfectly. The Levitatr features elevating keys (backlit of course) that appear at the push of a button.

For those of you that have considered swapping in your laptop for something a tad more portable, like say an iPad, but are worried about some serious hardcore blogging, the Levitatr might just be the convincing factor.

Drop on in for some more elevating info and sweet video…

We Hope This Is The Samsung Nexus Prime! (But It Probably Isn’t)

  • September 8, 2011 5:59 pm

20110908-055935.jpg
Is this the Samsung Galaxy Nexus/Nexus Prime? Considering Samsung is purposely spoofing the Nexus Prime’s UAProf — something few people would ever bother looking through — we find it highly unlikely that the company would let its flagship device for 2011 randomly pop up on a cellular retailer’s site. Just sayin’…

On a quest for a good deal on a still capable tablet? Wirefly is your hookup with a new $100 price (after 2-year contract) on a Samsung Galaxy Tab running on Verizon 3G. Sure, you’re essentially donating your Benjamin to an (on paper) outdated piece of hardware and signing your life away for two years to boot. But sometimes, frugality reigns king. All you need is a service plan totaling at least $35 as well as entering coupon code “SAMSUNG100″ at checkout. Think it’s worth biting?

New Boost And Virgin Mobile Devices Leaked Ahead Of April 5th Event.

  • April 3, 2011 9:02 am

If you like to rock a smaller carrier such as Boost or Virgin Mobile, you’ve no doubt come to terms with the fact that the coolest phones rarely come to your carrier of choice. When they do, they’re well past the hump in their life and heading towards ancient. But it appears some decent offerings are coming to said customers.

A leaked 19-page document over at Engadget features the entire lineup of upcoming Boost and Virgin Mobile devices. Most of the leaked material is rather boring, though a few exciting ones stand out.

  • Samsung Galaxy Prevail — Android-powered device with a 3.2″ display, 2-megapixel camera, and $180 price tag.
  • Samsung Restore — QWERTY slider with an $80 sticker price.
  • ZTE Peel 3200 — The infamous iPod Touch case that brings cellular features and WiFi hotspot capabilities. Pricing will be $100 at launch which is scheduled as sometime this April.

In our eyes, the Peel is actually more exciting than the Android device. Though we can certainly understand Boost users in particular who are chompin’ at the bit to get their hands on the carrier’s first Android device. Decisions decisions…

XPAL Power Announces PowerSkin Line Of Battery Cases.

  • March 22, 2011 10:28 am

XPAL Power is riding the smartphone wave today in announcing the PowerSkin line of battery infused cases. The 1500mAh cases (iPhone 4 features 2000mAh battery) cover some of the most popular smartphones on the market — HTC Evo | HTC HD7 | HTC myTouch 4G | Motorola Droid X | Samsung Galaxy S 4G, Vibrant, i9000 and i9003 | iPhone 4 (AT&T and Verizon). The design looks sleek and unobtrusive and is aided by the soft touch silicone that wraps around the cases. Features include the ability to charge the case (and phone) while the phone is inserted as well as syncing to your computer. A set of indicator LEDs along the back side of the case (bottom of iPhone 4 case) gives users a visual representation of remaining battery life.

Availability is still listed s “coming soon” with price equally as mysterious. Such things should be cleared up in the coming days, however, so check back soon.
In the meantime, check out PowerSkin’s website for more info and images.

Galaxy S2 Mini Outed. Coming This April.

  • March 21, 2011 10:46 am

In the market for a Samsung Galaxy device but with it was a tad more pocket friendly? You’re not alone. While we all swoon over 4″+ superphones here at GS, we can certainly understand and appreciate the need for a more mobile, mobile device. With that said, if a smaller smartphone is in fact on your horizon, perhaps the freshly leaked (Thanks Three UK) Samsung Galaxy S2 Mini will suit your needs. Said phone features a 1.4GHz processor (likely single-core), 21Mbps HSPA+, 3.7″ WVGA display, and 5MP rear/VGA front-facing cameras. According to the leaked slide, we can expect to see this phone drop sometime in April. Any UK readers feelin’ the Galaxy S2 Mini?

Galaxy S 2 And 10.1? Galaxy Tab Revealed Ahead Of MWC.

  • February 13, 2011 11:09 am

MWC doesn’t officially start for another day or so, and yet the last week has practically revealed most of the exciting news already. That’s not to say actually being at MWC wouldn’t be amazing in itself. Unfortunately, GS is not. But I digress…

Two of the many devices leaked ahead of MWC’s official start include the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S 2 and 10.1″ Galaxy Tab. The Galaxy S 2 build off the original with a newer design, 4.3″ Super AMOLED WVGA display, and plenty of power compliments of the 1GHz dual-core processor.

The 10.1″ Galaxy Tab is a bigger version of the questionably successful first generation 7″ Galaxy Tab that really kick started the Android tablet phenomenon in 2010. Like the Galaxy S 2, the 10.1″ Samsung Galaxy Tab will feature a 1GHz dual-core processor as well.

With less than 24 hours until MWC kicks off, you better be prepared to spend hours in front of your computer, skip meals, call of work, and generally abstain from social interaction as we know it over the next few days. You won’t want to miss anything. Stay tuned…

Samsung Galaxy Ace And Suit Pose For Camera.

  • January 17, 2011 6:09 pm

If one thing’s for certain, it’s that Samsung is having quite a field day with Android. Consumers are snapping them up left and right, giving Motorola and HTC each a fair fight in the quest for Android supremacy. With that said, the two phones above — the GALAXY Ace and Suit — aren’t part of Samsung’s top tier devices. Nonetheless, they appear to be decent phones.

If we go by previous leaks of the Ace, we should expect to see Android 2.2.1, 5-megapixel camera, and 720p video recording (among other things). The Suit on the other hand is much more mysterious. According to EuroDroid, this particular device could be a region-specific “Galaxy Mini”, not destined for world wide release. All of this and more should be cleared up in a few short weeks once Mobile World Congress kicks off. Stay tuned…

Samsung Touts 600,000+ Galaxy Tab Sales Worldwide. #galaxytab

  • November 22, 2010 10:44 am

Things are looking pretty good for the “iPad Killer” aka Samsung Galaxy Tab. Samsung just announced sales figures for the first month of sales. And while they’re not exactly “iPad killing”, 600,000 units moved is nothing to sneeze at. On top of that, 40,000 units have sold in Korea since the devices recent November 14th launch. It’s hands down the best selling Android tablet to date.

Hopefully Samsung is quick to update their Galaxy Tab line to Android 3.0 — the famed “tablet version” of Android. It is in version 3.0 that numerous enhancements to UI, functionality, and under the hood tweaks will make Android much more optimized and enjoyable to use on these larger-screened tablet devices. Until then, it looks like the Galaxy Tab is doing plenty well on its own.
