Think Geek T-Shirt Review Roundup.

  • September 28, 2010 9:22 pm

Besides your usual geeky affair of smartphones, computers, and new fangled TV’s, clothing itself can even be a highly sought after item. Normal clothing is pretty boring to a digital junkie like you and I, but more sophisticated and “modern” threads such as those found at Think Geek, among others, are truly pushing the boundaries of what the typical “clothing” label entails. Think Geek was kind enough to give me four t-shirts for review so that you, the aspiring reader, can make an informed decision the next time you’re going through your cart and deciding what to buy. So hop on past for a good look at four awesome t-shirts: The Drum Kit, The Electric Guitar, The Personal Soundtrack, and, The WiFi Detector…

Why not strap a computer to your feet? Introducing: The Nike Circuit Shoes

  • June 14, 2010 6:55 am

I love geeky clothing. And I’m not just talking about some run of the mill t-shirt with some clever, digital play on words. Honest to goodness “Woah, that’s awesome” type of stuff. The Nike Circuit Shoes created by Gabriel Dishaw aren’t technically Nike’s at all. They’re just modeled to look like that.

The coolness factor that simply oozes out of the circuit laden footwear is too cool to ignore. A good end table piece for sure. Just don’t go navigating the world in these. Can you say blisters from hell…

The Real Space Race captured on T-shirt canvas. [Star Wars]

  • May 20, 2010 6:57 am

Geeks we are and geeks we shall be. No better way to display such a trait than with a few articles of geeky clothing.

Star Wars is synonymous with nerd, so that’s a good place to start. The shirt above highlights the real space race, Star Wars style.

Perhaps George Lucas should resurrect the series and toss in a few bouncing balloon races, huh?

Crocs finally become and official gadget thanks to old keyboard keys. Still in no way fashionable.

  • February 9, 2010 10:56 pm

Are you guilty of wearing socks and Crocs? It’s a travesty of epic proportions. Socks just aren’t meant for Crocs. What you wear on your feet when you put something else on your feet isn’t the topic of this post tonight however. What we do care about are these new Keyboard Crocs featuring the keys of keyboards stuck into the little holes on the shoes.

I’ve never gotten attached to Croc’s nor their little pendants that dangle from the holes in front. Personally, I feel the pendants were a gimmicky cash grab. Then again, the same can be said with anyone’s shoe of choice, these geeky cool Keyboard Crocs as well. Either way, I’m sure plenty of people will pick up these more uniquely themed Crocs and enjoy the hell out of them. I know even I would.

If you’re a geek and really want to find that other special geek that ticks the same way you do, the Promimity Sensing T-Shirt is *the* only dating tool you need.

The concept is simple, the shirt beams out a signal. Said shirt will then display via signal bars on the shirt how close you are to other persons wearing the same shirt. Pretty cool. Dumbest “Twittified” piece of clothing ever…The “Rambler” tweeting shoes.

  • January 27, 2010 6:25 am

I totally get the point of social networking. When there’s either a great distance or obstacle preventing daily or weekly contact, social networking and online interaction is a big help. When you’re bored and need something to occupy your time, social networking and the internet are your unfettered play ground. But when you want to annoy the hell out of other people and waste countless 1′s and 0′s in the process, well, the internet and social networking once again fit the bill. The last scenario is exactly what the “Rambler” shoes are designed to do — to rip every last nerve of patience out of your body.

The whole gist behind the Ramblers is that there are tiny sensors in each foot that tweet each and every step you take — every step you take! That repeating Twitter assault by your feet comes out in the form of “tap…tap…tap” when walking or simply “………” when standing still. Talk about over kill. There are some who send a tweet or two a week and others who send a tweet or two every other second all day. But to get to the point of tweeting your every step? Ugh. Wearing these shoes will get your an instant unfollow from me guaranteed.

Wondering how it all works? The shoe’s tweeting sensor pairs up via bluetooth to a cellphone which goes ahead and handles the actually tweeting duty. Nifty huh?

For the Android die-hard fan: Android T-Shirts

  • December 17, 2009 9:21 am

android-shirts

Ya I’m pretty much head over heels for Android. I’m not blind however and know there are several areas (market, fragmenting environment, better hardware) that need some TLC. Still, I find myself drawn to Android much like an Apple fan is drawn to the whole Apple culture and image. Branded clothing for something like a mobile OS is rather rare and not exactly something you’ll find at your local shopping center. Such expressions of the geek culture often require specialized stores. Todays such store would be The Google Store.

For $21.25 I can rock two super cool, super geeky Android shirts. With as much as you can find t-shirts for these days, $20 for a twofer sounds amazing. Hurry up, Christmas is almost here!

IE 666 T-Shirt speaks the truth

  • December 4, 2009 4:04 am

ie666

If there were ever a more telling, more truthful, or more fitting t-shirt depicting the horrors and evil of Internet Explorer 6, the IE 666 shirt is by far at the top of the list. Web developers know of the absolute nightmare induced headaches caused by “Microsoft’s finest” and end users know of the countless improperly rendered sites, slow navigation, and all around levels of suck that are prevalent. So have a good laugh at Microsoft’s expense. Think Geek has the threads as always…

Need “the vision?” Get the T-shirt [Geeky Clothing]

  • November 25, 2009 5:16 am

need-the-vision-t-shirt

As any true photographer knows, at the end of the day it doesn’t matter how big your lens is, how expensive your camera is, or how many extra attachments you have. It’s the ability for the person operating the camera to “find the shot”. You may or may not actually have that gift but at least you can wear it on your chest, fooling the world and pretending you do. For that, we have the “Still Need the Vision” T-Shirt. Wear it with pride…
