[Update] T-Mobile Now Pushing Ads To Android Notification Pulldown (Via “My Account” App?).

What is this crap? Ads in the Android notification pulldown!? According to TmoNews, the ads are starting to pop up in notification pulldowns after updating the T-Mobile My Account app. It’s worth noting that ads were present within the app previously — a completely normal and acceptable practice. But we’re almost positive it’s against some (or several) rules in the Android handbook to use the notification area for slinging crap apps/services. Just...

Android Twitter App, Carbon, Teased On Video.

Twitter apps are a dime a dozen. (Seriously, we have a folder full of them.) A good twitter app is much, much harder to come by. If you’re talking about Android Twitter apps, it’s damn near impossible. In terms of UI, we’d have to say Tweetdeck is probably our favorite. LG Lucid Specs Leak –> Pass

Eager to unload your wallet and its weighty greenbacks on a device worthy enough to call your palm home? Then pass on by the upcoming LG Lucid. While the mid-range price tag (likely ~$150ish) is a great entry point for 1.2 GHz dual-core power and LTE, we’re just not seeing anything special about this device. The 4″ WVGA (800 x 480) IPS NOVA display will probably look nice and the 1,700 mAh battery might even be somewhat able to stand up to the LTE radio’s...

First Of Its Kind Samsung Store Opens In Peru

While someone is busy opening shady “Android Stores” in corners of the planet (that also sell Apple gear), Samsung is trying their own hand at the brick and mortar retail scene. The image above comes from the company’s first official retail store which just opened in a shopping center in Peru. Apple has shown how powerful a physical presence can still be in the modern age of online shopping, especially when you include things like in-store support and...
