Microsoft Website Outs E3 Goodes Early: Halo 4 And More!

  • June 6, 2011 10:46 am

Microsoft’s official unveiling of E3 paraphernalia may still be hours away, but thanks to one click-happy employee we are able to get a quick glance at a few things Microsoft has in store. Kotaku’s Mike Fahey managed to snap a pic of the page in question before Microsoft realized their mistake and removed the offending images and links. From their mistakes, however, we now know Halo 4 along with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Kinect Star Wars, Dance Central 2 and several other titles will be debuting at this weeks E3 gaming conference.

Still, we’re sure Microsoft has a few more stunners that we haven’t managed to see yet prepared for their E3 event later today.

Halo: Reach + Gadgetsteria = epic wins

  • September 13, 2010 7:50 pm

Well, 4 hours, and it is upon us. The Midnight release of Halo: Reach, tonight, a bit longer than 4 hours. Finally, it is here. Finally. Unfortunately I have a job and can’t start the n00b pwnin tonight, but tomorrow starting around 5 or so pm, I’ll be on. All night in fact, I took Wednesday off from work, with hours and hours of Halo, and booze, I’ll need the time off.

Please join me in the gaming, hit me up on one of the IM’s or Tweeting type areas for my gamertag and play all night tomorrow night. I will need the help in kickin some arse all over Bungies epic release. If you haven’t followed this release, it is the prequel to the Halo trilogy, and by golly it is a good one. Participating in the beta was one of the best couple weeks I have ever had. Most awesomeness multiplayer I’ve ever been a part of, and can’t wait to get into the polished off product.

After a week or so of both multiplayer and campaign action, I’ll be throwing a review together for this sight, so if you would like to help in making the multiplayer aspect of it greater, hit me up for some gaming, I’ll bring the beer!!!

Man creates real life 7ft. tall Halo Elite costume

  • July 1, 2010 7:12 am

To say that Halo was a good game is ever so slightly understated. Halo was (and still is) very much a huge deal in the gaming world. The combination of gameplay, story line, and graphics have that uncanny ability to suck you in and hold mercilessly. For some, it’s a cult. While others find inspiration.

Meet special effects artist Pete Mander and his 7ft. tall Halo Elite costume. It’s incredibly detailed and well designed as you can see. And yes, it’s rather large too. I wasn’t a “die-hard Halo fan per say, but I certainly was what you’d call, “addicted” for quite some time. Either way, I could easily spend hours gazing at this creation, couldn’t you? Hop inside for a video of the build.

Modder remakes Halo Assault Rifle. Bonus: It really works and fires Nerf darts!

The next time you convince yourself that you need another nerf gun, take a good hard look at all of the store bought crap you’ve acquired. While fun to play with, they’re so unoriginal. Why not do as modder, “Moz”, and construct your very own nerf gun from two dollar store donors.

But Moz didn’t just make any rifle. This my friends is a complete working replica of the Halo Assault Rifle that shoots nerf darts! Slip inside and check out the vid to see it in action…

OMG OMG OMG OMG Halo Reach!

Sorry to be cluttering the good old Gadgetsteria with video game banter, but this one is big news. A Halo Reach Multiplayer game play trailer was released today, and by god I had to change my pants 3 times while watching it, then had to change them again and slap my momma when I saw the ‘Assassinations’ part. Take a look at this trailer, then clean yourself off, and continue reading:

Okay, so, I’ve been a Halo fan since the old xbox days years and years ago. I used to sit up late at night and play through the campaign, try to kick arse on the multiplayer, like all 20 something guys do. So here I am, 28, still playing the Halo series, still getting pwned, late at night of course. I just happened to be trolling through the interwebs and noticed a trailer out for the to be released ‘Halo Reach.’ I have heard amazing things about this game, and since I picked up my copy of ODST last September, gaining me access to the beta multiplayer (when it is out) I’ve been drooling in anticipation. Not sure if any of you like Halo, but seriously people, from viewing this trailer, you can see we have the ability to actually assassinate people, we can finally run (at least it looks as if the Spartans are sprinting) and we f00kin have JETPACKS! Jetpacks FTW! Please tell me you guys are excited for this release!

Halo Xbox 360 mod looks outta’ this world…

Since I’m on a mod kick this morning, why not move on from the mobile geek cave to something that is a little smaller a heck of a lot more affordable. Gaming console mods are nothing new. We have seen dozens pass through here at GS. Perhaps the most unique and well put together example of console modding to come through in some time the Halo Xbox 360 mod. The name is self explanatory. This 360 mod features a panoramic-like scene on the top of the 360 that is beautifully detailed. It doesn’t just rest on top however as the earthy feel wraps around the entire unit. When a geek with artistic and creative ability really puts their mind into their work, truly awesome creations come forth. If only the creator were taking orders….

While Halo isn’t quite the media sensation it once was a few short years ago, it is still none the less a major player in the Xbox world. It is bar none one of the most popular game franchises ever with an addicting game play that is hard to beat let alone replicate. If you are looking for some more “physical” ways to enjoy Halo and all of its addictive goodness, RC cars/copters might be your next best bet in making the game come alive for you. Thanks to BigBadToyStore.com, Halo parties can now become more physical and real. Starting in July with the Warthog, a mere $23.99 is all that is needed to start your own earthly Halo party. August will bring even more players to the party by way of the Mongoos, which will also sell for $23.00 and the Hornet, which will go for $38.99. These prices are actually pretty reasonable for such a slick set of toys modeled after video games. I guess the parties involved in collecting royalties have a heart and aren’t trying to price these things above many people. Good job. For those of you wondering, the Hornet actually does fly and they manufacturers even toss in two master chiefs on the Warthog. Sweet deal!
