iFan, charge your iPhone, tangle your hair.

  • December 6, 2010 5:03 pm

The iFan: a revolutionary, magical device made famous by it’s multiple uses. One use being to greenly charge your iPhone. The other to rip out all of the hair on the side of your head. Well, only if you are stupid enough to think the wind will blow through it while it is next to your face. Either way – Magical!

The iFan was designed and created by Tjeerd Veenhoven. He must run into a lot of instances when he isn’t near an outlet, (or the cigarette outlet in his car) to need to design such a spectacular and magical piece of glory magic. How long does it take you to charge your iPhone using the power from your wall — mind you, not the computer, but the wall outlet? 30 minutes to 1 hour? It took this guy 6 hours to get a full charge with the wind. Now, these results are somewhat skewed. Wind speeds vary. And if you were a Storm Chaser, chances are your iPhone would charge a bit faster.

Created using a modified computer fan, Tjeerd was able to construct a sleek case to house it and the iDevice to allow for optimal wind blow charge power. As he states, holding the phone outside of your car window while driving could speed up the charge process, but we here at Gadgetsteria.com don’t recommend it. However, it may work wonders for those long sexy walks on the beach with your brand new match.com love sweetheart, you can spark chemistry all while saving the planet!

An afternoon in the life of an AT-AT

  • June 28, 2010 8:45 am

We care about gadgets. We care about Star Wars. We also care about having a good time. So sit back, relax, and hit the button below. Because next to worrying about how your going to pay your bills, your kids’ college tuition, and how you’re going to put food on the table, the biggest thing that weighs heavily each and every night is this: What exactly does a Star Wars AT-AT do in its “daily life”?

Rest assured that Patrick Boiv has captured all that makes up an AT-AT’s afternoon in his minute-long documentary dubbed: ” AT-AT Day Afternoon”

Steve Jobs has his way with Gizmodo [Parody]

  • June 10, 2010 2:48 pm

We all love a good laugh now and then. Whether it’s at the expense of someone else, or a genuine happening of the universe, humor comes in many shapes, sizes, and colors. But being that we’re tech gurus, the things that really make us chuckle revolve around gadgets. In recent memory, there’s no better story to pick fun at than the iPhone 4/Gizmodo Bar blunder that is now pretty much known to everyone.

In the real word, a judge will ultimately decide the outcome of the iPhone 4/Gizmodo leak. But that leaves all of us wondering what exactly Steve would do if here were given the final say. A mystery it is no more. Stop wondering and watch the parody inside…

Star Wars isn’t just popular for it’s plot, characters, or mystifying effects. It’s the overall aurora that surrounds it which leads to all kinds of inspirational ideas. Sound like random babbling? (You’re halfway there!)

The effect of Star Wars: Flickr user , “Stéfan”, took one picture each day for an entire year of his two Stormtroopers doing their daily routine. The result is 365 pictures of pure enjoyment. Hop in for a few favorites…

Verizon: “We’re available in 220+ countries”. World: Uhhh, there’s only 196…if you’re lucky.

  • April 15, 2010 10:58 am

It never ceases to amaze me how a company will stoop to lying and deceptive measures to make themselves look bigger and better than the competition. While Verizon is currently on the higher end of my list of consumer friendly carriers, they’re certainly not a stranger to the opposite end of things as many of you know. But this post isn’t being crafted to rag on a new anti-consumer policy. Instead, it’s actually pretty comedic. Who doesn’t like a good laugh, right?

So here it goes…

iPad lulz

  • March 20, 2010 10:07 am

This is just a funny video to watch after Saturday Morning cartoons, made for a Comm class and uploaded to YouTube. A humorous look at all the iPad can (or can’t) be used for…

“The video is an assignment for our Comm 340 class. The goal was to make a media product with the highest consumption as possible. We completed it March 2, 2010. Our professor is Dr. Warnick, and our group members are: Brian, Justin, Laura, Mike, and Rashel.”

Michaelsoft Binbows [Humor]

As much as I’ve ragged on Windows in the past, if you cut through a lot of the crap, false accusations, and “problems” that ended up being more user error, you have to admit Windows 7 is actually a pretty decent OS. In lands other than ours where gadgets are much more prevalent (Japan), sometimes smaller “mom and pop” or novelty shops spring up. One such shop can be seen above.

The characters “?? (binbo)” are literally translated into meaning “poor”. Making sense of all the symbols above comes out to roughly, “cheap computers”. Windows always does like to push their value/lower price argument. Looks like it’s working somewhere. Funny?

A few cheap, geeky laughs courtesy of SwitchtoMac.com: I’m on a boat Mac.

  • December 28, 2009 3:54 pm

Parodies of any type are fun to watch and/or listen to. I’m a completely joker at heart so a little humor at someone or some other corporation’s expense is always fine in my book. So I of course had a few chuckles when I saw “I’m On A Mac” — performed by the talented and funny team over at Switch To Mac. The video is a parody of Lonely Island’s “I’m On A Boat” which you’ve probably heard in one form or another. In Switch To Mac’s version, instead of boats being the prized possession, it is Mac’s that obviously take the cake. Is it corny? Ya, but it’s pretty damn funny and catchy to boot. You can’t be that busy today that you don’t have a spare 2:36 to spare. Go ahead and give it a watch…
