Starting your car or other type of mechanical transport machine in 2010 requires some kind of key, numbered code, or simple key fob w/ embedded sensor. The rides of tomorrow — smartphones. This Mini Scooter E concept by BMW has a docking station that allows smartphones to be used not only to start the device, but also navigate it as well. It’s fitting seeing as how a huge number of smartphones come standard with at least some form of basic GPS capabilities. Being a futuristic design, propulsion is of course provided by batteries and electric motors.
If this were available now and I lived somewhere that wasn’t so rural in nature, I’d pick one up. You? Hop on past for a couple of videos breaking it down in nerdy detail…

We rag on Ubisoft pretty hard here. But it isn’t without merit. Ubi’s blind love for customer slaying DRM is disgusting and shameful. All the while Ubi goes on proclaiming how great it is for consumers and how much we love it….right. Blizzard on the other hand understands customers (and Ubi’s customers no less) as the company has come forward stating that they will be taking a different approach…

I’ll admit I’ve spent a fair amount of time in my short life so far trying to solve the Rubik’s Cube. I admit it — that damn cube beats me every time. My biggest problem is I lose my patience — fast. As little as 5-10 minutes into my mind game, I get so fed up that I literally want to hurl that stupid block of colors into the next continent. Maybe, just maybe if I had a Rubik’s Cube more to more liking I might do a better job, huh?
The Keyboard Rubik’s Cube is just the ticket. Designed with the ultra geek in mind, the Keyboard Rubik’s Cube is the cube I’d pick. Why? The keys are so large that actually messing up this little beauty only have to resolve it is a slim chance. Any Rubik’s Cube I don’t have to solve is a good Rubik’s Cube. Sign me up!
So if you’re bored this weekend, take nine keyboards under the knife and create something truly unique.

$34k burning a hole in your pocket? Ya, thought not. For some however, that lump of cash can cause quite a bit of pain after a little while. Poor them. After dropping $200k+ on an Aston Martin Raptide (the greatest car on the planet I might add), that spare $34k could be seen not only as a pocket weight, but a burden as well. Luckily, the wealthy never have a shortage of options.
If you are one person lucky enough to own one of the finer vehicles on this planet, perhaps it’s time to consider upgrading — your key. Sure Aston Martin as well as countless other luxury car manufacturers turn out some pretty impressive sliced metal, but truth of the matter is — you need more. That’s precisely where the Car Watch Key comes in handy.
The AMVOX2 Rapide Transponder heralds the second generation of the revolutionary creation that sealed the ties between the Grande Maison from the Vallée de Joux and the legendary British luxury sports car manufacturer.
Released several months ago, it is the first mechanical watch developed with the ability to control access into a luxury sports car by means of a built-in micro transmitter system serves to lock and unlock the Aston Martin DBS car, while maintaining the key functions of the famous vertical-trigger mechanism equipping the pushpiece-free chronograph.
This nifty piece of gadgetry will unlock your Aston Martin thanks to a built in transceiver in the watch itself. An added bonus of course being that lump of cash in your pocket is no more. Sign me up. Now if only I could find a spare $34k and a neglected Aston Martin Rapide. Anyone willing to donate…?
As much as I joke and as simple of tech as this is, it’s still might cool. I want it.

The fast paced way of life demands more and more from us each and every day. It seems society as a whole tries to cram in just one more thing into whatever spare seconds we have. When it gets down to it, some people may not even have time to type out full words and sentences, resorting to characteristic text message language such as LOL and BTW among others. Even then, some people are finding themselves strapped for time. For those individuals, I have the tool just for them — the LOL Keyboard.
Essentially, the LOL Keyboard is nothing more than a keyboard with popular super short hand messages routed to function keys — areas that would normally hold, chat, email, internet keys and the like are now filled with L8R, LOL, THX, and more. Need the full list of shortcuts?
- ASAP, BRB, BTW, CYA, FYI, HOAS, HRU, IMO, LOL, THX, TTYL
Besides the handy function keys, the keyboard can also be switched to and from QWERTY mode and alphabetical mode at the push of a button. I’m sure the teens of the world are all giggly giggly goo right now. Parents? Modern convenience or the ultimate downfall of man and beginning spiral into extinction?

We’ve seen many hidden camera type gadgets wonder around here at GS. While a novel idea at first, the camera often ends up being pretty substandard, suffering from abysmal image quality. Not to mention, pens or other writing instruments seem to be the gadget of choice. Not every carries pens around. That’s where this car key remote camera comes in handy. Everyone has keys. The remote won’t actually get you in to any car, but the hidden camera stuffed inside will certainly get you the dirt on whatever subject your spying on. This particular hidden camera seems it may offer image quality that is at least a small step above the rest as native photo resolution is 1600 x 1200. Even if it doesn’t product the sharpest pictures, at least they’ll be bigger than a thumbnail right?
If still pictures aren’t good enough, motion picture can be had at 640 x 480 pixels w/ frame rates hovering right around 29 per second. Make sure your computer or whatever gadget you plan on playing back your ill gotten booty on supports AVI and WAV as those are the only video/audio formats support respectively. Finally, storing digital goods is done via microSD card slot. At $36 by itself or $63 w/ 8GB microSD, this little James Bond-esque gadget is actually pretty easy on the pocket book. Interested?

Let me start by saying that when I am in need of a safe place to store a particular valuable, usually the inner sanctums of some sort of building or secure compartment in a car is my first choice. The makers of the “Hitch Safe” would like you to rethink your old perceptions of safety by including your trailer hitch in the short list of places you consider top secret and safe enough for your most precious items. Instead of keeping your dear dead grandmothers priceless wedding ring or thousands of dollars in cash in the safety of your glove box, under the front seat, or anywhere else you’d typically consider a “safe place”, put all of that stuff in the Hitch Safe and truly pull a fast one on anyone looking to make a quick run with your goods.
The safety of this ingenious little device comes by way of a 4 key combination lock that turns your hitch into a hidden compartment inaccessible to outsiders. Even though it’s made of heavy and sturdy steel, installation is claimed to be rather easy. As long as your stow away valuables take up less room than the given example of 9 keys, a few credit cards, and a drivers license, you’re good to go. Of course, being the nerd that I am, I’d probably store some gadgetry in there such as spare cables, spare phone, etc.
Those of you who actually have a hitch, does this seem like an avenue worth investigating?

Often in life we come across certain gadets that are truly a representation of innovation and inginuity. In todays go go go world, instead of recycling or fixing something, people would rather just throw it out and buy something new. Unfortunately, dear mother earth can only carry so much baggage. In regards to tech waste, the less plastics and other electronic materials we can bury in the ground the better. Aiming to fight the good fight, the Recycled Keyboard Key Flash Drives are the result of one person using that noodle between their ears. The Keyboard Flash Drives come in several variations such as the Backspace Key, “+” key, and Shift key just to name a few. Each drive features your standard 2GB of storage space and default black/grey color scheme. If you’re looking for a geeky gadget gift for friends of family, give them something that won’t just make the planet a tad happier, but one that also won’t break the bank.
