Even if your Christmas tree is a bit sparse and your holiday meal is a microwave dinner delight, you can rest assured that you won’t lose any sleep over any of Apple’s pricing this fine Black Friday. If a leaked poster is to be believed, Black Friday 2009 will be quite a winner for Apple with a rather rare showcasing of generosity by the Cupertino giant. The supposed discounts as they appear:

  • Up to 15% off of all accessories, hardware, and software
  • Up to 25% off of all Macs (Hello 27″ Core i7 iMac)
  • Up to 30% off all iPods
  • **iPhone and iPod Shuffle excluded

A bit bewildered as to why iPods, the device that is losing steam is getting the most off? That’s the answer to the question — slowing sales means deeper discounts. Well, I assume anyway. As for the rest of the deals, they look pretty darn good. Enough to coax you into opening that wallet of yours?

Final pre-release build of Windows 7 (Build 7600) leaked?

All of you geeks who scrutinize firmware/OS version numbers as if you were some CSI detective on the world’s most high profile will have something new to lust after. Leaked images of a Windows 7 7600 build (string number: 7600.16384.090710-1945) have started circulating the digital landscape. As you can see from the string number, the build wasn’t pushed out that long ago — it’s merely a few days old. The real kicker is that the letters RTM are tagging along for the ride. Such a bond usually indicates that this is in fact the final pre-release build. In other words, it is the actual version that we mere mortals will get for real come October 22nd…hopefully. While Microsoft again hasn’t said anything official regarding this leak, such a large jump from the previous 72xx builds is highly likely to signal what we all suspect: that this is in fact the RTM/final build before launch. Are you convinced? Expect Microsoft to release an official statement regarding this leaked builds legitimacy within the very near future.
