The ultimate geek transportation is born: The QWERTY Keyboard Car

  • March 11, 2010 1:35 pm

I’ve seen some pretty creative forms of transportation with a geeky flair before, but the QWERTY Car is quite possibly one of the geekiest (and coolest I might add) that I’ve seen yet. One thing is for certain, placing all of those keys was anything but fun. The end result is well worth it however. Just imagine taking this think for a spin and how many double, triple, and downright full on stares you’d get. The car that resides underneath the plethora of keys isn’t anything special mind you — it’s all about the geek factor here. That I can definitely admire. Would you drive it?

**Check out the “Dark Roasted Blend” link below and scroll down a little ways — Runner up for geekiest car goes to the Floppy Disc Car.

BlackBerry Magnum does the motion picture thing…

  • January 28, 2010 5:29 am

Oh BlackBerry Magnum. How you used to fill our dreams with visions of hardware + touchscreen goodness. Now, you are nothing more than a failed attempt, a black sheep, a prototype that will forever be stuck in the lab, replaced by another model with a classier case and flashier specs. You were at one time, the pinnacle of the BlackBerry world while always remaining deep within RIM laboratories. And now, we sit back and watch a video what might have been as your white, OS-less body puts on it’s best face for the camera.

Anyone upset we never got the Magnum or super pumped for the bigger and better Dakota?

Allspark Xbox 360 mod — Gamer tested, Pharaoh approved.

  • January 21, 2010 4:25 pm

Because the world isn’t already chock full of custom 360 cases…

Aw hell, who am I kidding? This “Allspark” Xbox 360 modded case designed and created by Flickr user givintats is just plane awesome wouldn’t you say? The skeleton consists of plywood with carved and molded clay on top. Add a nice coating of chrome and you wind up with the gleaming box of archaeological awesomeness sitting before your very eyes.

As for the inner glow, owners of such a ‘box can switch between blue or red. For Allspark II, add some more colors, perhaps a fog machine, and maybe even a speaker for sound effects.

Who’s yet again envious of someone else’s noticeably better grasp of creativity and design?

Steampunk/Hunley replica flash drive the most impressive yet.

  • January 21, 2010 9:17 am

Are you a fan of Steampunk’d gadgetry? I’m kind of on the fence personally. While it is cool to see custom electronics and one-offs, a couple months back there was a huge explosions of steampunk material that frankly, burned me out.

A few months out of the public eye however will do wonders for your interest. Not to mention, if done well, Steampunk gadgets are a sight to behold. Take for instance this Steampunk’d USB flash drive/Hunley (old classic submarine) replica. The drive itself is your run of the mill 16GB flash drive, which I might add is a fair amount larger than many novelty/custom flash drives. Even better however is the obvious attention to detail the creator “WillRockWell” of Etsy put into this little digital wonder.

If you’re feeling all nostalgic (and have a healthy, fat wallet) why not make this flash drive part of your collection? It’s mighty shiny…don’t let the $800 price tag blind you.

Go old school with the TV Bag

  • July 17, 2009 6:00 am

old-TV-bag-2

Forget practicality and convenience, this one off custom purse/bag will look stylish, set yourself apart from the rest of civilization as a geek, and manage to not break the bank. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for your back. This old battle worn Sony TV has gained a new lease on life. Instead of spending the next millennium sitting in some dump leeching toxins into the ground, this TV will instead come back to life as a very handy, very loved bag. I would imagine such a bag can’t be that light even with the innards stripped out. To access your ill gotten booty stashed inside the TV, simply give a little tug on the display which is now on hinges and gaze into the inner sanctums of geekdom. If this tickles your digital fancy you better hurry. The seller only has one. And at $89 I don’t think it’ll be around too long. Jump on in to get a glance at a few more stylish poses…
