AT&T woes blocking iPad 3G from accessing network. [Update]

  • May 5, 2010 11:06 am

Nothing sucks more than opening up a new gadget only to find it or the service it relies on doesn’t work. For new iPad 3G owners, this should be fresh in your minds as reports are circulating that an issue with the iPad 3G’s sim card and/or user’s account are causing data woes. Apparently, when users try to access AT&T’s network the following error pops up:

AT&T is unable to process your request. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please try again later (Q5033)” during the cellular data account signup process.

According to a few “fixes” that have cropped up in the Apple support forums, calling AT&T and squaring away your billing info by tying your ICCID number to your phone number the data plan resides on erases the problem. But for others, a remedy goes as far as replacing the SIM card entirely. It sounds like a bit of a cluser at the moment. We’ve reached out to AT&T and will update when we hear back.

Any iPad 3G users going through this?

Twitter down for you? You’re not alone.

Yes, the real time king is down yet again. Well, for some that is. According to Twitter’s Status Blog, some users located throughout the world are experiencing connection problems. It’s good to know I’m not going senile. Because of issues with the site, my full attention has been on fixing those problems, not scouring the internet for news goodies — hence the reason I didn’t know if Twitter was down or not. After finally taking a few minutes to check the web, it’s worth noting that the Twitter outage, or more appropriately connection issues aren’t a full blown outage. They aren’t limited to any one group or geographic location.

For now, the affected users don’t seem to share any commonalities. Unfortunately, I have been stricken in the group of down users as none of my Twitter apps on both my iPhone and Mac are doing anything except throwing up errors. Yet I’ll somehow manage to make it through the day. Who else is Tweet-less? Care to share what corner of the earth you dwell in as well as the total amount of time down so far? So far here in Northern Indiana I’m looking at almost 24 hours and counting. :( Fairing better or worse?

Is your PSP-3000 screen looking a little unhappy?

  • October 21, 2008 11:27 pm

Internet forums have been ablaze the last couple of days with angry psp-300 owners.  At first the screen was something one would sit and simply drool over…now not so much.  It seems some nasty little surprises have popped up.

Interlacing, jagged edges, scan lines and some pretty nasty pixelation are rearing their ugly heads in what is quickly becoming a nightmare for Sony.  One would think that Sony would hop to it and issue a fix for their disgruntled customers ASAP.  Sorry disgruntled customers, today is not your day.  Sony is actually doing the opposite and claiming that the screen problems are not an issue and went further saying that their would be no fix whatsoever software or hardware based.  Wow…doesn’t that just make you want to and go hug the CEO of Sony.  I feel sorry for all of the early adopters of the PSP-3000.  It’s like a bug light…it lured you in with its shiny, sharp screen…then ZAP!
