Review: XtremeMac iPhone 4 Case. #xtrememac

  • November 20, 2010 3:49 pm

You know, since I picked up an iPhone 4 back in early September, I’ve amassed quite the collection of iPhone 4 cases. And yet I still jump for joy like a giddy school girl when I get a new one in the mail. And that’s precisely what happened last week. Except it was one but four cases that I received. Today we’re going to look at one of those cases, the XtremeMac MicroShield Accent. It’s a pretty nice case if I do say so myself. But I’m sure you want to know a little more. Jump on in for the full rundown…

Bendable bike deters thieves with it’s flexibility. Riding it is another story…

  • July 9, 2010 6:26 am

When someone tells you they have a new and innovative new locking mechanism for their bike, don’t be surprised if they whip out one of these bad boys. A bendable bike certainly puts a wrench in any thief’s plans for taking your beloved mode of transportation. Cut this lock and you’ve effectively screwed yourself over.

Of course, how stable can a bike actually be with the two of the most important supports being made of rubber? Unless we’re looking at some new space age/science fiction materials here, I don’t see how this would work all that well. Then again, I love being proved pleasantly wrong.

iPhone battery woes? MiLi Power Skin aims to save the day.

  • April 21, 2010 11:55 am

If you’re an iPhone user, you’ve no doubt run into a frantically flashing battery meter at least once or twice. With all the features (and hardware) packed under the iPhone 3G/S’s hood, it certainly takes it’s toll. Countless add-on batteries and battery cases have flooded the market since the inception of the iPhone. Some are better than others. How does the latest contender, the MiLi Power Skin fair?

iPad gains a new companion with “The iMaxi” (case)

  • February 26, 2010 5:49 am

You knew it was going to happen. Someone was going to play on the worst device name in history — the iPad. And like clockwork, the iMaxi (Case) has been made known. Featuring a soft cottony interior to keep it nice and shiny with a more durable nylon exterior to fend of moisture and dirt, the iMaxi is actually a quite functional case for your iPad. The most clever part however is the integrated wings and wrap around the unit and keep it contained within it’s hallowed sarcophagus.

It does what it’s intended to and does it with a nice pun included. What more could you ask for? I’d start with a slightly lower price personally. $40 for a big maxi pad seems a bit ridiculous. Oh well, I’m sure some will bite. Are you one of them?

Squeaky clean “kiddie” version of IE 8 set loose. Kiddie porn, baddie, and nasty free.

  • February 9, 2010 4:56 pm

Keeping kids safe on the internet these days is nothing short a chore. With literally millions of sites flooding the net with porn, violence, and BS calls to end piracy, traversing such a place as a small child can be daunting and frightening. Who doesn’t want to look out for the little one’s though?

That same feeling of helping the little ones is what no doubt drove Microsoft to team up with the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) and develop a special version of IE 8 with special features to further protect children from objectionable content online as well as making reporting said content several grades easier. So how good is it really?

If you really want to read past all the lines and cut through the crap, this new Kiddie edition of IE 8 isn’t anything too special at all as all of the filtering, searching, and other CEOP related features are nothing more than add-ons and shortcuts of some sort or another.

Regardless of how “separate” it really is, any preventative measures to keep those little eyes “little” a short while longer are more than welcome. Parents, curious readers, and those with nothing else better to do: care giving it a shot?

iPhone case by Blink [Review]

  • November 5, 2009 5:24 pm

Getting just the right iPhone case for your tastes is often a quest into the vast world of 3rd party accessories for Apple’s uber phone. I’ve lost count of how many cases have come and gone over the life of me and my iPhone’s relationship. Some were good and I just simply wanted change while others were bad and I had to return them almost as soon as I opened the packaging. The individual traits we all look for in the “perfect” case are objective of course meaning that no case can truly be perfect. Some like a solid, well built, all encompassing case that sacrifices nothing in the name of protection. On the other hand, some merely seek a case that adds a different color or some other desirable physical change. The latter often don’t add as much protection as the more function minded cases for obvious reasons. So how does the line of ultra-thin cases by Blink fair? Read on…

Dress up your iPhone for Halloween

I know that talking about customes, ghost, and gouls is a tad early on my part as Halloween is still a good two months away, but in the name of gadgetry and geekiness, I press on. If you have felt bad for your naked or undressed iPhone for the last couple of Halloween’s, a new case that resembles a creature a little less than holy will surely do the trick.

Introducing the Demon iPhone case: available in blue, yellow, white, green, and purple plus sporting a creepy demonic face on the back side with equally creepy hands should give your trusty iPhone the added evil look you’ve been looking for.

While some will make fun of you for dressing up a phone, you can always turn around and point the finger of shame right back at them as they walk their bumble bee look-a-like poodle down the street. $14.99 and it’s yours.
