Update 9:30pm 11/7/2010
Comments are now closed. I’ll be drawing the winner tonight and emailing them no later than 12:00am EST. If you weren’t chosen, don’t worry. I’ve got a drawer full — Literally! — of good stuff that’s up for grabs. So stay tuned…
If you’ve got yourself an HTC-branded device in your possession, today is a good day. HTCsense.com is now live! What does that mean for you? Free access to extremely handy services like remote track & wipe, online caches of messages that you can read/write/delete, send links and content from the computer to your phone, as well as several other nifty things. Sounds all good, right? Well, it’s not all rosey just yet. As of writing, the only supported phones on the freshly launched site are the Desire HD and Desire Z — neither phone has actually been released yet.
Perhaps they’re testing the waters to make sure their servers can handle the load…
RIM isn’t the only game in town gunning for the consumers’ dollar. While their BlackBerry Protect (Enterprise for the consumer) suite is promising all of the great enterprise features that signify BlackBerry for all consumers, Microsoft has something of their own to dish out — a Windows Phone Live website. Much like RIM’s offering, Windows Phone Live online will allow customers to sync just about any type of data you can think of, be it notes, contacts, emails, etc., between cloud and device. On top of that, lost and stolen devices will also get geo-location and remote wipe capabilities.
It’s nice to see RIM and Microsoft mobile devices getting some pretty serious software features in the upcoming new releases. Now it’s time for Google to give us something. And no, a hodge podge of 3rd part apps and work arounds doesn’t cut it. We want an honest to goodness Android solution. Google, are you listening?

Back in 2004, it made sense that BlackBerry enterprise users received the best of the best support, apps, innovation on the BB platform, and so on. In 2010 however, an enterprise only smartphone that flirts with consumers everyday won’t cut it. For several years now, non-enterprise users have been asking begging RIM for some more consumer oriented features that mimic the enterprise market’s already robust feature set. Finally, RIM has answered — BlackBerry Protect.
BlackBerry Protect is far from “secret” as it has been mentioned at various keynotes, conferences, and other minor leaks along the way. But now that it’s official — And with a beta becoming available within the next couple of weeks! — consumer users finally have some hard info to chew on regarding this “Enterprise support for the consumer” (for a lack of better words). So strap in and hop inside for the full rundown of features and plenty of screenshots to keep your ocular cavities happy…
One of the big things about Chrome OS is that it is entirely web-based. It’s a novel idea that is certainly a minority in the traditional PC market. While world travelers and mobile hipsters may find the Chrome OS everything they needed and nothing more, I’ve seen some chatter that power users may feel that Chrome OS as it’s been shown so far, is a tad limiting.
But there may be hope. According to a Google employee, Gary Ka?mar?ík, native desktop applications/legacy apps will be supported in Chrome OS through a process called (unofficially official) “Chromoting”. Apparently, Chromoting is being described as a sort of Desktop Remote Connection service. So far, when pressed further neither Ka?mar?ík or Google would comment further.
It’s all pretty interesting stuff. The shroud of mystery ensues that plenty of geeks will go into the weekend pondering away all there is to ponder about Chrome OS. Of course, there’s also those who think Chrome OS is a waste of time. Where to you sit?
Yup, you heard that right… CTG has released the biggest and most bad assest(est?) Wii accessory yet… The Wii Go Kart Kart Kart, etc… This most amazingest Wii attachment is probably the coolest thing to ever grace my living room floor, or my pool, or the driveway. This $40 attachment inflates to a beautiful gokart with a WiiRemote slot in the steering wheel for you to play Mario Kart Wii, or any other racing game you might fancy…
CTA Digital, a company that has tons and tons of console accessories, has probably created one of the most amazing / (slash) awesome / (slash) crazy attachments to date… All I know is that I want one of these, and at a $40 price point, I see no reason to not have one just sitting in front of my tv.

Ok, this is hands down the coolest iPhone/iPad app I’ve seen yet. It’s called Chopper2. And the coolest thing about it is that you can use your iPhone (and I presume iPod Touch as a remote control attached via Bluetooth to your iPad. It’s definitely an interesting implementation of how to interact with the iPad…
By now I’m sure most of you have heard about the leaked iPhone 4.0 prototype hardware. It’s quite the departure from previous iPhones. And one departure that is very much still in prototype form, normally kept in extreme protection deep within company headquarters. But, manufacturers have to test their products out in the real world to make sure they do in fact work as intended. But everyone has bad days…

If you love blowing money on stupid gadgets, I’ve got a few things that will be right up your alley. Piggy backing on the apparently popular “Gangsta Lifestyle”, “Gangsta Gadgets” look to bring a little bit of the street into a geeky style with such things as shoes with speakers and DVD players, Gun remote controls, and thonged mice Gangsta Gadgets has it all. To be fair, I’m not knocking the designer of said concepts, Kristin Kerby as I am more-so knocking the ideology.
Humans already kill other humans for plain shoes, plain stereos, and plain…shower heads? Blinging them up with speakers, gun shapes, and other Gangsta qualities seems like an a poor way to highlight that particular lifestyle, don’t you think?
Regardless of your stance however, Kristin’s renderings are still pretty sweet to look at no less. What do you think: Harbinger to needless violence or another geeky niche that is desperately needing filled?
